<p>Part A - On this program, I’ll be talking with Diane Turner and Anne Miller from the Meaningful Movies Project, which is a non-profit organization that assists neighborhoods, groups and individuals organize, educate and advocate using the power of social justice documentary film and relevant conversation to build positive and meaningful community.</p>

<p>Diane Turner is the volunteer Executive Director of Meaningful Movies, and has been a Film Committee member with the Wallingford group (previously known as Friday Night at the Meaningful Movies) since it’s beginning in 2003.  In 2017 she assumed the role of Executive Director and Board Chair of the Meaningful Movies Project upon the death of her husband, Rick Turner, who was the creator and visionary of MMP.</p>

<p>Anne Miller, current Manager of Meaningful Movies and volunteer with the Mt. Baker Meaningful Movies, is an educator, activist and mother. She is a founding member of the South Seattle Climate Action Network, and a board member for Washington Women for Climate Action Now. Before coming to the Meaningful Movies Project, Anne was a Peace Corps teacher at a vocational school in the Solomon Islands; a second grade teacher in the Kent School District; and a teacher-librarian in the Seattle School District.</p>

<p>Eric Liu is the founder and CEO of Citizen University, a national nonprofit that promotes the art of powerful citizenship. He also directs the Aspen Institute’s Citizenship &amp; American Identity Program. Liu’s books include the national bestsellers The Gardens of Democracy, and The True Patriot; The Accidental Asian, a New York Times Notable Book; Guiding Lights, the official book of National Mentoring Month; and his most recent, You’re More Powerful Than You Think: A Citizen’s Guide to Making Change Happen. Liu served as a White House speechwriter for President Bill Clinton and later as the President's deputy domestic policy adviser. He and his family live in Seattle.  </p>
