Yippie ki-yay, monkey fighters! We're back to talk about Dusty's favorite so-called "Christmas movie" DIE HARD.

Every year around this time, everyone on the internet gets into arguments about what their favorite Christmas Movie is. Within the first minute of said conversations, someone is going to mention Die Hard, and then the conversation usually explodes (unless everyone just nods along knowingly, as they should be rarely do). Dusty chose the movie this time around, sticking to his guns (ho ho ho!) and calling it solidly. And well frickin' done too, as we had a blast talking about this great "Everyman vs The Terrersts!" flick.

This time we're hauling ass back to 1977 to take a high-speed interstate drive through Smokey and the Bandit. Burt Reynolds left us this year and crossed that great Moustache Bridge in the sky, so we wanted to do a little tribute to him through this podcast. Our main focus game of the evening is the apocalypse-powered Spirit of 77 which almost perfectly captures the feel of this classic film.

This week we're jamming on one of the greatest western epics of all time: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly!

We're back with another long one, as we had a lot to say about this one. If not the greatest western of all time, it's certainly in the top three, and I'll guarantee you that the other two films in that list would also be Sergio Leone creations. There are a lot of good behind the scenes bits we jam for this one, followed by a wonderful passionate discussion about game options.

Also, we apologize for some minor technical annoyances. NPC experimented with an altered mic placement to test out some possible future tweaks to the recording process, but the end result was not as good as expected. Hopefully they were smoothed out enough during editing that you won't notice them!

Episode 0011 – Nightbreed (1990)

We're finally back! Journey with us to monstrous Midian, in a (very late) episode about the Clive Barker cult classic, Nightbreed! Hello again everyone! This episode is crazy late, as we've had an almost comical string of semi-catastrophic technical problems in all of our lives since last time. Thankfully the losses were eventually recovered due to well-planned multi-tier backups, so we're back with a new release for your enjoyment! Originally, we had planned a themed release month for October, and this was one of the episodes recorded for it. Even though Halloween has now come and gone, we still have the spooky spirit over here, and are excited to jam out more thoughts on the topic.

Also, due to changes for each of us in personal time and availability, as we announced in the previous soundbyte we are moving to a new bi-weekly release schedule. We've also swapped some of our duties around behind the scenes, with Dusty mostly taking over on post-recording editing work from NPC now that N has practically no free time to even kick back a cool Coors sixteen-ouncer and watch even one measly episode of Mork & Mindy on his beloved channel 57. This episodes marks D's first run at it for the show, so please give him some love as he kicks it off pretty smashingly!

Also, we're trying a new thing here with this one. General consensus in most feedback has been that people want more of what we have to say, so we decided to make it so. Bonus Episode 01 – Series 1 Outtakes

Our first bonus episode, featuring outtakes both hilarious and fascinating from our inaugural season! This special bonus episode is a temporary departure from our regular format. We've packed an hour of our outtakes from the just-finished first series of our show into this package. You'll hear goofs, screw-ups, tangential conversations, deeper dives into our personal lives and stories, and additional episode content that was trimmed to keep the episodes within a shorter (relatively) time frame. We have had a lot of feedback from listeners already asking for ways to help donate to help cover our web hosting costs.

As Dusty mentions at the beginning of this episode, we're considering putting together a Patreon campaign to make that possible. This episode in particular serves as an example of the kind of bonus material we'll be releasing in the future as extra patron-accessible content, and we've got a lot more ideas on top of that. This campaign is still a project heavily draped across our drawing board, but we'll keep you all posted whenever we launch it.

Thanks for the awesome support you're shown us, and we are excited about what the future holds for this show! Also, we meant to launch this last Tuesday, in place of our regularly-scheduled next episode, but we all faced a variety of unavoidable real-life roadblocks that made such a feat impossible. Going forward, our plan is to do up each month as its own series of four or sometimes five episodes. Months with five Tuesdays will very likely have special surprises at the end, so stay tuned for the excitement to come!

Got the feeling there are Too Many Secrets in these modern times? Join us as we dive into the crypto-thriller Sneakers!

This wraps up our initial "launch batch" of advance recordings. To everyone who has stuck with us this far, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. As mentioned several times before, the first four episodes were meant to prove to ourselves that we could do it, and like we say in this episode: I think we proved that, and more! Starting with episode five, have implemented a significantly upgraded recording setup, and we're thrilled for you to hear the improvements going forward.

This time around we experimented with some recording ideas that, quite frankly, we are never doing again. We met for almost six hours, recording most of that time, and ended up with more worthwhile content than we could ever possibly use. If we ever end up releasing "b-side" or bonus material, expect a lot from from episode. The trivia bits alone that were cut from the final release could fill an entire separate episode! The sheer volume of available extra cuts is staggering, and resulted in a post-editing re-evaluation of our production flow. Soon we will be posting links for voting on which of these first four episodes inspire a session of video-recorded tabletop play, to be shared to our Youtube channel and give you another look into how you can take these movies to your own table. So thanks again! We hope you enjoy this episode, and stay tuned for the excitement to come!

District 13 - aka Banlieue 13, or District B13. It's an almost non-stop parkour martial arts chase from beginning to end, and perfectly game-able at a role-playing tabletop. We're still tweaking the setup a bit in this one, and you'll notice a few more changes to come as we use the first four episodes to really get everything set the way we want.
