Sony's first "State of Play" livestream just wrapped up, and they announced a handful of new games, including many PSVR experiences coming in the near future. Apple also held a services-focused event, announcing Apple Arcade, a subscription-based gaming service that promised premium curated content that can be played across all your devices. Lastly, SEGA is entering into the mini console market officially later this year with the SEGA Genesis Mini. All that, and more, on this week's episode!

Google announced their new cloud-based gaming platform to the world earlier this week, called Google Stadia. It will be able to stream AAA games to your phone, tablet, computer or television in 4K resolution at 60 fps. Also, Apex Legends began its first Season, introducing a Battle Pass with 100 tiers of unlockables and the first new Legend, Octane.

An outlandish rumor surfaced claiming that Sony may be in talks to acquire Take Two Interactive, who own Rockstar (Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption), and 2K Games (BioShock series, Borderlands series, 2K Sports games, Mafia and more). Nintendo finally announced they will be holding their first Nintendo Direct of the new year! They will be discussing upcoming Nintendo Switch games, including Fire Emblem: Three Houses. What else will we see announced? Activision Blizzard also began massive layoffs ahead of their quarterly earnings, with plans to release more than 800 employees.

Resident Evil 2 has already shipped over 3 million units worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in the franchise so far. Read my article on MammothGamers.com for more! Super Smash Bros. Ultimate received its first new fighter in Piranha Plant, available for free to early adopters to the game who registered and redeemed their code for the fighter. Humble Bundle just added another PlayStation bundle, this time featuring some Indie games! Rockstar has adjusted the economy in Red Dead Online after getting many complaints about it being too grindy. The Game Awards are tonight (12/6 at 5:30pm PST), make sure to tune in to catch all the awards and new game announcements! Fortnite's Snowy Season 7 is now live with a handful of exciting new changes. Lastly, Nintendo is adding three more games to it's NES catalog next week. All that, and more, on this week's episode!

Sony announces the PlayStation Classic, a mini console preloaded with 20 iconic PlayStation titles. Spider-Man is selling like hotcakes over on PS4, breaking records left and right! Nintendo announces a THIRD Switch bundle, this one including Fortnite Battle Royale and some exclusive in-game cosemtics. PlayStation Now has added the ability to download PS4 and PS2 games directly to your hard drive to play offline, finally! Nintendo Switch Online is now available, subscribe and you'll have access to a growing library of NES Games as part of the service. Currently, there are 20 classic titles available, with more added each month! Lastly, Mewtwo is now available for standard raids in Pokemon Go, and the Kanto Pokemon are still available in increased spawns until the end of this month! Get out there trainers!

Nintendo's rescheduled Direct was yesterday, and there were a lot of big announcements including: Animal Crossing for Switch, Luigi's Mansion 3, Yoshi's Crafted World, a bunch of Final Fantasy titles coming to Switch, and more! Nintendo also detailed their new Nintendo Switch Online service, which goes live September 18th and includes cloud backup for save data and 20 NES games as part of the subscription. BlizzCon got a date, and will be taking place November 2 & 3 this year in Anaheim, but will begin a bit earlier for eSports competition. Lastly, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is getting a "cloud version" in Japan. Will we ever see one here?
