I was out on my bike the other day and I rode past a paddock that had some cows and calf's in it, and I thought to myself ‘look at those lil calfs’. However, yes a calf is ‘small’ compared to a cow, but a calf is really the size of a medium to large dog, even though they are babies.

Old people love to say stuff, and sometimes also contradict themselves. So here is an example of one of those ‘contradictions’ so the claim was that if ‘one person complains, so they’ll change whatever’ then instantly get into a story where they made a complaint, and didn't get any sort of result, brilliant.

Once again, recently I was out and about on my bike I saw someone walking with headphones on, a classic look these days. Now, I had passed this person (from behind) earlier in my ride, I then went past them again a little later on, and the look on their face was one of sternness, seriousness and id say concentration. Its not completely unusual for someone to shoot a smile or a friendly nod, but not this time!

As you all know, we had an election recently, so after some ‘shenanigans’ if I could call it that, the results (for now) are in and spoiler, they are unchanged from what they were before.

So basically, I had a birthday a few weeks ago, and I had fish and chips, that's it.

I love getting emails, and recently I was checking my iCloud email (yeah I’ve got one of them) and I was lucky enough to have an email from investment tycoon Warren Buffett! Unfortunately for me, he wasn't offering me truck loads of money, but only if I gave him my bank details and password first.

Firstly, today (day of recording) has been a very rainy day, so myself and one of my siblings thought we might go out to virtual golf, however because we didn't book, we couldn't get it. So we thought we’d go to Bowling, but because we didn't book, we couldn’t get in. So we went and had Sushi, then went back home!!

Recently, I was given a bit of a boost of confidence at work (sort of) I was sent off to do a 3d scan of a building, ALL BY MYSELF, and I didn’t cosh it up ! This is the first time I’ve had to do a 3d scan by myself, and I think only the 3rd time I’ve actually done/been involved in doing one.

As you all may remember, I mentioned that we were going to have an election. Well the results are not quite in, but it seems that the parliament will be pretty much what it was last time. That said, there could be a change of government, but time will tell.

Lets talk about the classic pub ‘parmi’ my god I love em, not sure why, its crumbed chicken with stuff on top. That said, recently I was at a pub and I had a ‘meat lovers’ parmi, that was a stock parmi with BBQ sauce, ham and salami on top !! what a time it was.

Elections, how great are they, well due to some parliamentary ‘skulduggery’ I’ll be voting in yet another one! This has basically been brought on due to there being a vote of no confidence in the Premier, who then didnt resign or seek support from the cross bench which has then lead to a election.

Indecisiveness, what a great thing to have? Or to be? I’m not sure, but I dont do to well with making ‘big’ decisions, or maybe im just bad at making decisions, im not actually indecisive.

Remember the other week when I did the 5km run, well my ankles were ouchy for many weeks after, then one day, they were pretty much back to being fine. I did have a theory on, not based on anything medical as to why they’re now better.

Recently I was able to go ‘on site’ at work and do ‘defects’ that basically entails going over the workmanship, and pointing out any issues with the fit and finish. Think like is there any chips or issues with the paintwork, gaps in any joinery etc.

Is it time to wind up the Podcast? I think in recent times, the consistency of the show along with the lack of content/topics that im gathering is diminishing, so is it time I wind it up?

So, running, how do we feel about that. Yes, you’re right it is awful. But guess what, I did some recently, oh yes (and my ankles are kinda hurting as a result) here is the ‘juice’ myself along with some of my colleagues took part in the running festival, most of my coworkers did the 10km distance, but I did the 5km length (because you know, broken hip and all that, just over a year ago) But two of the bosses did the half marathon along with the 10km distance, crazy stuff ! (or fitness gods?)

The other week at the office I thought to myself, has my hot drink intake increased? I feel like I’ve gone from one hot drink to 2-3 at the office on a daily basis. Is that to many !!

Elections can be depressing, but luckily here in Australia we have pretty good elections, everyone trusts the process, everyone votes (because we have to) and whilst you’re out out at the polling booth, you might even get a snag. But when it comes to election coverage, the public broadcaster ABC have had a legendary election analyst who has just done their last election. A cult hero to many, that's for sure.

Lets talk Pannier racks briefly, I was able to borrow one from a friend which didn't quite fit onto my bike, so they gave me another one to try, which once again didn’t quite fit. Somewhat ironically though, if it is actually irony, the first rack I tried I could make fit easier than the second one.

I do love me some days off, but the Easter season has been quite the situation, when it comes to my work schedule. Just for context I work a 4 day week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) given how the holidays work here in straya, these last 2 weeks, I’ve had ‘only’ 5 days at the office instead of 8!

This year I’ve been trying to do some more reading, thus far I’ve read 6 books! And we’re not even in May yet!

As you all may be aware, not quite a year ago I had a bit of an incident, and I’m still not back to 100% as yet! In this last slot, I’m just going to give you all a brief overview of my hip recovery.

I’ve got some new ‘custom’ jingles for the show, isn't that exciting!! Since the beginning of the Podcast, I’ve just been using very average ‘royalty free’ jingles/stings but now I’ve got my own bespoke ones, hecko !!

Guess what, it’s election season here in Ausvegas, and I couldn’t be more ‘excited’ yeah, sure. But at at least we don’t have someone who’s been found guilty by a jury running for PM, imagine that happening in a major country….

About 2 years ago, one of my siblings moved to the ‘big island’ and I’ve not had an opportunity to see them since, that said my parents have had a couple of trips to visit, but I haven’t. But recently they came back for a visit ! So it was good to see them again.

A car park that I frequent, plot twist has a boom gate on it, which I guesstimate that probably once ever 4-6 weeks it has some sort of problem, like being broken off or being stuck open or a ticket jammed in the machine, so there’s always a chance there could be a ‘freebie’ on the cards.

As you all will probably be aware, I used to make videos for my YouTube channel aptly called ‘Luke Who’s Vlogging’ now, that is something I’d like to do again, so I thought I’d just pop my Osmo Action on the front of my bike, record my ride put some data overlays onto it then heyo there’s a video. However, the putting the data on bit, is well probably more tricky than it needs to be.

This happened a little while ago, but something I was asked to do at the office reminded me about it, that is one day I was simply asked to print a drawing in A1 size, however I made a mistake and ended up printing an A0 size drawing instead… and the page was huge, you could of wrapped up a small or even a mid sized child in it !!

Im not sure the phrase ‘name’ is completely appropriate, title could be better. That said, I’ve gained a new one in recent times that I’m not overly ‘thrilled’ about, and that title is ‘uncle’ YES, I’ve gained the title ‘Uncle Luke’ by my adopted nephews, aint that fun!!!

As you all are well aware, I broke my hip not quite a year ago and I’d say I’m colse to being fully recovered. When I was at the physio last they decided they would measure my legs to see if they are still the same length, as apparently your leg can become shorter after a break. Spoiler, mine are still the same size!

We have a really good Harvest Market in my town, one that I’ve not been to for probably 10 years. But recently I had a opportunity to go again and it was quite good, lots of people, lots of good produce and lots to eat.

Tandem Bikes, they are a doozy, and recently I got to have a go on one. I do think I was slightly stitched up, because I had to be on the front, therefore ‘in charge’ of the bike !!

Christmas Lights, We’re now 2 months into the new year, and I’ve seen some houses still with Christmas Lights on them !!! TAKE THEM DOWN.

This is a bit of a boring one, but my mum wanted some advice on some new cladding options on our family shack, so because I work for an architect, I asked some of my colleagues for some advice. Which I got and passed on to my mum, who isn’t into said advice, talk about client from hell !!!

How good is stationary right? It’s super wholesome, and its always nice to have nice stationary, specifically pens. Luckily for me I have a nice pen, which is a Parker Jotter, and I’ve thinking about taking it into the office and using it there, but I have access to heaps of stationary at the office because we have a cupboard full! So should I be taking my own stationary to the office or not, even though it’s generic stuff and not ‘fancy’

Butterscotch lollies offer a good mouth feel, but if they get warm they get all sticky and are not great. Recently when I wanted to take one with me on a bike ride, I thought to myself “if I put this in my pocket it’ll go all sticky” then I had a ‘brain wave’ why not put said lolly in my water bottle, genius.

Close calls are never ideal, especially when you’re on a bike! I had one recently where a driver decided to stop in the middle of an intersection, just as I was about to enter it, code brown alert.

Reading, a very exciting topic, that’s for sure! I dont have many goals for 2025, but one of them is to read more books, thus far I’ve read two! Which is probably two more than what I read last year. The books I’ve read so far this year is Ian Flemings, Casino Royale and Breakfast at Tiffanys by author, Truman Capote.

Christmas Lights, very appropriate in the month of December, but not in any other month! This begs the question, why do some people still have them up in January, the other day I was out and I saw 7 houses still with them up.

Have you ever had an issue at work, and the workplace guru doesn’t know how to fix it? That’s what went down for me recently. I was having an interesting problem with some documentation and two of my ‘senior’ colleagues were stumped as to how it could be remedied.

Holidays, I’d hope you all have had some over the new year, I did ! I went over to the ‘big island’ and had around a week in Melbourne with my friend Sam, who now lives over there. We did many things, we went to the cricket, a place called ‘Grazeland’ and Daiso.

I do like a good rumour, because mostly they’re super stupid. I had one of those thoughts the other week of ‘maybe I could start a rumour’ so this is my plan and I need your help. The rumour that I want to ‘spread’ is simply that I know someone who’s spread a rumour, that’s the rumour…

Offers, I’ve had someone make me one, so recently a friend of mine offered me their spare room, on a part time or full time basis, even though they were like ‘you’re not helping us if you do move in’ a slight burn I’d say, but all in all, I think I’ll take them up on it.

Have you got a will? Or any sort of ‘estate plan’ well I don’t but now that I’m an old man I thought it best I get my affairs in order. However, two things have become tricky, one being what things do I need to consider, the second is well, where do I go, there’s heaps of law firms that do ‘estate planning’ what one do I go to!

Man crushes, I’m sure you’ve got one and if you don’t you should get yourself one, because I have! And it’s my boss….

In a previous episode I spoke about how I had become the president of a cycling advocacy group. Well, the other day I was having a bit of a moment and was really considering giving it up, I have since deescalated my internals, but I do have a letter of resignation ready to go if needed.

Just this last week, I had some podcast feedback! One of my cycling ‘buds’ was catching up on the podcast when they were doing some crafty stuff (an ideal activity to be listening to the pod) generally good feedback, except one episode wasn’t up to snuff.

Recently, I was chatting to a friend of mine and I revealed something huge to them, but, they refuse to believe it. On the basis that I hadn’t told them about what I revealed when it happened, another friend also was quizzical, because I hadn’t talked about it on the show, well today I’m going to do just that, talk about the thing.

Let’s talk about ‘free’ postage, typically online stores offer ‘free postage’ if you spend a certain amount of dosho. Anyway, I was making some purchases and on one site I reached the ‘minimum’ spend, on a second site I didn’t, so as a result I begrudgingly paid for postage! But get this, the ‘free postage’ order got delivered before the order I made that I had to pay postage on, and they were made on the same day.

Plenty of things happen when you’re in a lift, transportation being one of them. However, you do come across some interesting folk at times, well just a few weeks ago I was in a lift with a delivery guy, who wasn’t having a great time. They were having a bit of a whinge about ‘the job’ and their day, what am I supposed to say to that? Seriously!

To wrap up, a month or so ago I was talking with a musical friend of mine, about the possibility of them doing some spicy new jingles and sweeps for the show! Anyway, it all went a bit quiet until earlier this week they got in touch and had a few samples for me, hopefully some new jazzy jingles will be on the way soon, exciting times!

So, my state government have totally painted themselves into a corner, by agreeing to build a $715 million dollar stadium so my state can have a team in the AFL (Australian Football League) and to say it hasn’t gone down well is an understatement.

In this episode of the podcast I cover the background, the ‘decisions and where things currently sit with it all. Plus there will be finance stuff for you finance nerds….

Have you ever logged into your bank account and thought to yourself ‘that doesn’t look right’ especially if the account is showing MORE that it should. Recently I logged into one of my accounts and noticed it had an extra 50k in it! Well sort of, it was showing on the ‘current’ balance, but the ‘available’ balance didn’t show the extra dosh, it had already been withdrawn by the bank.

I did something controversial on my ‘day of drinking’ that I talked about in episode 115, Jazzed. During the day we went and had some pizza and my friend got a pizza that had broccoli on it, so, there was one piece of this pizza left and it had a bit of broccoli on it, so I went for it, I grabbed the broccoli off and ate it. It was the right thing to do at the time, im hunkering down!

Last weekend a friend and I went to agfest, which is basically an agricultural field day. I’ve not been to agfest for a few years, and honestly I’ve not missed it. However, this year it seemed to be missing something, some sort of ‘vibe’ that the event has had in the past wasn’t quite there, it’s hard to explain what it was missing, but it was missing something.

Imagine knowing three, yes THREE, different routes home from your work. But you let google decide what way to go, based on how long it’ll take, well a friend of mine undertakes this wild process. And they had the cheek, I say cheek to suggest I talk about it on this episode, so here we are.

A few months ago, quite possibly late Feb, I cant actually remember specifically. I went for a camping trip on the coast and since then I’ve had a ‘deep’ yearning, that yearning is for a campervan/motorhome of some sort. So I can do some travelling around and explore various places around my state.

Wine, do you like wine and wine tastings? Recently I experienced my first wine tasting, which was great, the experience of it was good, even though after a while all the wine did tasted the same.

School or study? What’s the difference, basically nothing. But old people say ‘study’ and I’m old. Anyway, I’m going back to ‘school’ or an I doing some ‘study’ I don’t know. Health, generally speaking it’s good if you’re healthy, I’m not a doctor though. But over the last year, my health has improved a good deal! And as a result my lung function is as good as it’s been since 2013.

Let’s talk about feedback for a brief moment. I got some and I’ll cover the topics brought up in said feedback to start off the show. I most definitely could of worded that better or in a more expansive way, but I didn’t, so lets move on.

As you all will be aware of, I’m a bit of a ‘cyclist’ and recently after a ride myself and the group went for a coffee (as we tend to do) someone had their coffee and they also had a croissant, THEN they did something unbelievable, they dunked their croissant into their coffee, I’ve never seen or heard of someone doing this before. Have you ever done this, let me know if you have.

SWINGERS, one thing I was not expecting to be touched on in a Podcast, yet here we are. I was listening to a Football (Soccer) Podcast recently and the host, almost out of nowhere said that he and their wife signed up to a ‘swingers site’ after having a ‘cheeky’ wine one evening. WHAT!

To kick off the first ‘proper’ episode of 23, I want to briefly discuss something that is totally relevant to everyone, the summer of cricket! Specifically the summer of Test Cricket and that it’s not been great. One test was won by about 400 runs, another by an Innings!

Everyone has various ‘desires’ to win the Lottery, or at least fantasise about it. So during one of these recent ‘lottery fantasies’ I got to thinking, if I won ‘the lottery’ what would I do with a few million bucks!

Mountain Biking, not something I do a whole lot of, but it is good for the skills. I’m not sure what to say here, I talk about going Mountain Biking and plug a video I’ve got over on the Vlog channel.

Who’s doesn’t like a spicy game of ‘Truth or Dare’ it can be fun, with the right crowd of course, I don’t think playing it with a bunch of jerks would be that great. Luckily for me, I was fortunate enough to play a ‘round’ or ‘game’ of Truth or Dare mildly recently, and someone unleashed quite possibly the boss of all dares. The dare was simple, yet savage, yet effective, what was this dare you may be thinking. Well, simply put, someone had to refer to themselves in the third person until someone else asked them a question, that’s it.

I like clean things, everyone should! Unless you’re a person who likes dirty stuff, I don’t know. For a little while now I’ve been wanting to do some sort of ‘project’ however, the workshop area in the garage is a real dumping ground for stuff. Over the past week or so, I’ve done some organisation, which has resulted in a biblical amount of space all while not actually throwing much stuff out, shocker! So, this means you can have a heap of stuff that wont actually make much clutter if you have it organised.

Are you excited about your ‘Spotify Wrapped’ to be fair I couldn’t give a toss, I only knew it was a thing within the last week or so because people have been sharing it on their Insta stores. But, I’ve decided not to look at my ‘Wrapped’ until probably the last day of the year. So I get the full result of my years listening, who shocked a friend of mine, when I mentioned that to them.

Fake LEGO!, I got a nice lil letter recently and it had a fake lego set in it, of some sort of whale? I think that’s what it was. It was very fiddly to put together and the instructions were not great. But after about 5 rebuilds I got it all sorted!

Cold opens, this podcast has a cold open of sorts, but are they the ultimate tease when it comes to films, they could be. In a cold open you get well a lil tease of sorts as to a character or some sort of scheme, I’ve got no idea what brought this thought on yet here we are.

Carpet, much like the cold opens thought, I’ve got no idea where this came from. But it’s about if houses in places like Florida have carpet in them, not really much more to say about this really. I guess some might and some other don’t, maybe some places have carpet just in the bedrooms, totally random though.

You know the situation, you’ve been to a friends house and you’ve left something behind, and as a result you have a bit of a moment about how you’re going to get it back! This happened to me quite recently, I left my hat at a friends house and the coordination that went on so I could get it back was, well, it wasn’t that bad, but it could have been!

I think it’s reasonably fair to say I can be a bit of a ‘swooner’ at times, although I’ve not had a good swoon/yearn for a good while. However, a few weeks back I had an encounter with someone I’ve been swooning over! Will fate bring us together? Who knows.

Finally, it’s not unusual to meet someone who knows someone who shares your name, (did that make sense? I think so, it’s wordy though) this happened to me quite recently, and the reason for the ‘association’ was quite shocking if I’m honest, you’ll have to listen to get the full ‘shock value’

Let’s talk about ‘experts’ or at least people who think they are experts. I’m sure you all know someone who thinks they’re a ‘guru’ but are actually full of it, or have no idea. In this first riff I’ll explain how I had someone ‘jump’ to a conclusion, but soon rolled back when proven wrong!

Chocolate, it’s pretty good, but what about putting chocolate into a hot drink. I’m not sure I’d go for it! But recently my mum was having a hot chocolate or a Milo, basically a hot chocolatey drink. AND she put a piece of chocolate in it, I’ve got no idea why, but whatever.

Villains, typically pretty stupid, despite the fact that they have super fancy villain estates. But when it comes to ‘getting rid’ of their nemesis, they suck. I was recently reading Dr No and Dr No had a plum opportunity to get rid of Bond, but unsurprisingly he didn’t and Bond ended up coming out on top. I was just thinking END IT, as I was reading. But to be fair this is something that always happens in books, films and various stores.

Mushroom and Pumpkin skin, you ether love it or hate it. But, are they as controversial as each other? I like mushrooms and if we have pumpkin I’ll eat the skin (not raw skin, I’m talking about cooked/roasted skin) Also, what is the point of this story, I don’t know.

Breakfast is pretty good eh, Breakfast in bed is also pretty good. But how about Breakfast before bed, I love a snack before I hit the sack, so why not have ‘Breakfast before bed’ We could start a movement, of sorts….

Last episode we started with Monkey’s, this episode it’s Alpaca’s! Yes, those fluffy lil things with long necks. Much like a Camel, which gets us onto, are Alpaca’s just a BETA version of a Camel. I guess that comes down to what actually came first, the Alpaca or the Camel? I’m not ‘zoologist’ or whatever. All I can do is speculate.

Birthdays, how great are birthdays, well they’re a bit boring when you’re old like me! However, a friend of mine had a birthday the other week, and we went out! It was a good night out and it was interesting/good to meet some new people. As some of their co-workers came along, so it was like the two friend groups coming together! And I quite possibly got a new podcast subscriber out of it, that’s what really matters…

Margherita pizza, is it the most blasé of all the pizza toppings? I think it probably is, It’s like being in a solid steady relationship, there’s no pineapple on pizza drama, or the spice of Pepperoni. It’s just a solid topping.

Monkeys, they’re lil and fun, except for the big ones. Some listeners will be aware that my town has a monkey enclosure in our City Park, and recently something mildly ‘spicy’ happened. Someone broke into the enclosure to steal the coins that had been thrown into the pond the monkeys have. As a result of this, said person may have been exposed to herpes!! Total sitcom stuff.

I’m a big fan of a solid pain job, especially when it comes to ceilings. Knowing this, you’d appreciate my shock and horror at a ‘substandard’ ceiling pain job, when I was out at a beverage establishment recently. The coverage of the paint was rather ordinary, it was lacking an extra coat of colour water. But, believe it or not, the nearby bog had a worse paint job!

I had a birthday recently and I had to deal with the dreaded ‘unwanted gift’ I want to say that the gift wasn’t a bad one, however I just didn’t really want it. What a scandal...

Science, it’s a great thing. Last week, I was involved in some ‘science’ one of my radio friends and I did an experiment on-air! What we did was a taste test, we tasted L.A. Ice Cola, Q Cola, Coca-Cola, Coke No Sugar and Pepsi. Controversially, the result was that they are all taste the same, basically. So if you’re having a party, get the cheapest Cola you can for your boozed-up friends.

Let’s talk about moves, two of my friends are moving away, for various reasons. That’s a good thing that they’ll be exploring and taking up opportunities. However, I’m feeling a bit sad, because I’m loosing two of my buds, and my main friend group is going to be diminished as a result.

Bikes, Bikes, Bikes, some more exciting news, I’ve grasped an opportunity to get myself a new bike! Given the ongoing stock issues getting new bikes has been difficult, but my local bike shop got in touch with me as one of their suppliers had something in stock and in my size, so I ordered it!

Let’s talk about ‘flirts’ because, apparently I am one! But that depends on who you ask though. I was on the phone at a friend’s house recently, and when I got off they said to me ‘you’re a flirt on the phone’ however, I’ve since had someone deny that I’m a flirt and another confirm I am. Who really knows…

Beep tests, I’m sure some of you are aware of them, some of you may not be. Basically, you run between two cones, and things escalate from there. What else can I say, I don’t know.

My old mate Cam, who is a regular listener to the podcast, because he’s a champ. Cam likes things and one thing he likes is references, especially when I reference things/situations from our social outings. So he better like the one in this episode!

I’m sure we all have friends that have moved on and that we don’t see much anymore, luckily for me, I got to reconnect with one of mine. I was a bit unsure how it would go, given it’s been about 6-7 years since I’ve last seen said friend. But heck, the old references came back, the inside jokes were back, it was like old times.

Porter loos, one thing you’d not expect to see on the side of the road. Well, I saw one on the side of the road and on its side just recently. I was driving home after ‘having a few’ and I saw this thing, Initially I thought it was a skip bin, but as I drove closer it was a porter loo. I can only assume I fell off a truck or trailer. But it was gone then next day, very odd and unusual.

How good are friends? Especially those who send you friendship bracelets. I was lucky enough to get some in the mail from one of my ‘international’ buds! And they were also accompanied by a letter. All this only a year or so after I wrote them a letter, talk about a slow reply….

Servo workers and salespeople, are not necessarily two things you'd associate with each other. But, I’m here to tell you that servo workers are the best salespeople out there, all they do is ask you one simple question “Just the fuel today” and you always doubt it. There is always something in your mind that goes ‘yeah, I could get a coke and a snickers for 5 bucks’

Did you ever partake in the classic ‘ritual’ of putting a necktie on your door if you weren't in there alone? Honestly, I never have, because I’m not a ‘smooth operator’ like that. But if you lived by those rules, did you have to get yourself a tie and how many other people had to do the same. Is this rule keeping the necktie business going?

Holidays! As you are listening to this (assuming you’re listening on release day) I’m on holiday, well holiday may be a strong word to be using. But I am out of town for a few days. I quite possibly at this very moment am spending a spicy amount of dosh on something unnecessary, because ‘yolo’ as the kids say.

I know we’re all sick of elections and politicians, but on Saturday Australians ‘went to the polls’ and categorically shafted Scomo and the Libs. At the point of me writing this (Tuesday 24th) we know that Albo will be our new PM, but what the government will look like is a little unclear. Labour will be the biggest party, but at this point they are a couple of seats short of a majority (76 needed) but they are looking solid to get there. So, yeah, we’ve got a less right wing govy, for a more centre left one.

Recently, I was at the doctor and I noticed that they had their doctorate/diplomas etc handing on the surgery’s walls. This got me thinking, is that just a ‘flex move’ by professionals who display their diplomas and such on their walls. Is this something you do in your profession? Let me know.

As you may know, and as I’ve been talking about, I’m doing a 65 Roses Challenge this year to help raise a few bucks for Cystic Fibrosis. One of my goals as apart of my challenge was to see if I could do my longest ever ride, which I did last weekend. I took on an ‘epic’ ride which ended up being about 154km, yeah that long, mostly it was an ‘easy’ ride, but it did get a bit tough in a couple of spots, but I managed to keep going and I got home before it got dark!

Last episode I talked about a new drug that has been listed on the PBS. The new drug is called Trikafta and it does all sorts of fancy stuff, for individuals whom have CF. Fortunately for me, I’ve been on the new drug for a few weeks now, and it’s been very positive. Im just waiting to have a few tests to see what the medication has been doing for my health, hopefully I get some positive results back when they happen.

Interestingly, I also talked about Easter in the last episode, but not quite like this. Why doesn’t Easter have decorations like Christmas? Easter lights, Easter carols or even Easter trees or whatever. This could be a marketing masterstroke for us.

Last year during May I did a 65 Roses challenge, to help raise some awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis. This year I’m doing that again, my challenge is to ride 650km on my bike and also attempt my longest ever ride, currently my longest ride is 113km. Today is ‘Good Friday’ now, our family doesn’t have many traditions or anything like that, but one thing that is somewhat of a tradition is no red meat on Good Friday. It’s just something that we’ve always done, I think it’s something mainly from mums side of the family. But, it’s always an excuse to have some nice fish or something like that.

As some of you may be aware, I’ve got a condition called Cystic Fibrosis and fortunately there has been a new drug listed on the PBS. The new drug is called Trikafta and it does all sorts of fancy stuff, all going well I’ll hopefully be starting it next week. I will keep you updated on that in the next episode.

Wrapping up, good old Spotify have billed me! Simply, my 3 month trial of Premium finished up at the start of the month. But, instead of getting a message, email or whatever to say ‘oh your premium is up’ I just got done the 12 bucks! Scoundrels.

A few weeks ago, or whenever it actually was, I went out for St Patrick's day. Of course I had a Guinness, because that’s a legal requirement, but I saw something that is a crime against the thick frothiness that is a Guinness. If you know how a Guinness is poured, its a bit of a process, first you pour ¾ of it, then wait for it to ‘settle’ then top it off, well what I saw that night was the ‘topping off’ being done by a beer! Not more Guinness, I wanted to ask the person who got the drink what the heck it was about, but they were with a group of other people. You know how it is…..

I had a slight run in with a lady who had an infamous name, that name is, Moneypenny! Miss or Mrs Moneypenny! Either way, Moneypenny exists outside the world of Bond and in my town. Who’d of thought is, not me that’s for sure.

Lastly, I saw a guy reverse into a sign, and just drive off. The guy was reversing out of their driveway and opposite there was a sign that had something like ‘Event in Progress’ on it, it was just a temporary sign. But the reverser, just hit it and then drove off. I guess given that their vehicle was a ‘work car’ (it had business branding all over it) they probably didn’t care if it had damage on it!

Computer monitors, what a thing they are, they make computers useful! Just last week, ours went up the snuff, great. Luckily I was able to hook up the TV as a quick short term fix, I was also lucky to be able to get a good replacement via the evolution of ‘click and collect’ not knowing how stock is and all that jazz. I think a new computer is in order next though.

Over the weekend, I made the wild decision to go for a ride on meh bike, however, as I left the house I didn’t have my drink bottle with me. Pretty much instantly I also realised I didn’t have my key with me ether, total disaster! But thankfully (I guess) our house has a ‘trick’ you can use to get inside, to which I pulled and got inside, after pulling some ‘mission impossible’ moves!

People mouthing off are complete goons, or in this case ‘tools’, also over the weekend I was just going for a slow ride in the evening, and as I was going around a corner near a set of traffic lights, I have some snoozer say ‘licence and registration thanks’ now if I had my licence on me I probably would of stopped to show them. I wonder how that would of gone down?

On Tuesday this week, someone cut the cable! Yes, my state has a interconnector that runs from us to mainland Straya. The cable’s (I think there is three all up) supply electricity and internet/phone services. But, on Tuesday some cowboy on the ‘big island’ damaged one of the cables doing civil works, as a result for about 6-7ish hours there was no landline or mobile phone service, and also no internet! But, shockingly despite not having a connection, the sky didn’t fall in….

I’ve managed to con someone into giving me a job! And it’s at a bike shop! Hype. Longevity, is subject to my passing the standard 3 month probation period, but hopefully I can manage that and if I do, I might treat myself to a delicious new bike.

Christmas lights, I shouldn't be talking about them in early March, jet I am. Some houses near me STILL have them up and on during the evening/nights. I’m not into this, it’s ok to keep them up, but don't turn them on until December!

So, one of my best friends! Has given me the ‘label’ or ‘title’ im not sure what to use here, of their ‘Best Friend’ and I feel that’s a big call, maybe even a captains call. At the time I wasn’t into it, and that I felt that I probably need to be doing more, for them to be able to handle that title. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually given someone personally the title of being my bestie. I’ve got a top three, and they sort of change around a little depending on what’s been going on etc. But yeah, I’m someones best friend, and its on the internet so it must be true!!!!

I saw a Camel, umm, I’m not sure where else to take this. When I initially saw it I did a triple take to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. Luckily for me I was with some other people who also saw the Camel, so I know im not crazy…..

In recent times I’ve been doing some Archaeology work, it’s interesting stuff. And when it comes to ageing finds it can be tricky, but luckily ‘The Boss’ has an encyclopedia of makers marks, for old porcelain and china. That means depending on the mark and if it’s fully intact, you can date something right to the day of manufacture!

Just before Christmas, my city started a e-scooter trial, and I’ve had two people say to me that I need to talk about them on the show. That said, I dont really have much to say about them, I’ve not used one and I don’t really need to. However, I may go and try one just for the sake of it.

Secondly, I just chat about a few things I have on my ‘Stuff for 22’ list, it mainly contains visiting places around where I live, places that are stupidly close to where I live, but have just never gone too. One big ticket item though is to get a Hammock!

Earlier in the week, two of my friends had their birthday, so they decided that the ‘friend group’ should go Bouldering/Indoor rock climbing. I’ve not done this before, but it was rather challenging and enjoyable, I also took my action cam with me, so keep an eye out on the Vlog channel for a video soon.

So my record has arrived! After being told the other week by the retailer, that they didn’t know when it was going to be here, I’ve now got it! I bet it was all a con, and they had it all the time the scoundrels…

What’s the most ‘unusual’ thing you’ve been a passenger in? I had a slightly novel experience recently, where I was a passenger in a tractor that got driven through town! My brother who does some tractor work had a hay bailing job one weekend, so I went for a ride. However, we had to drive the tractor across town to get where the job was!

Lastly, I waffle about a meeting I had a week or so ago, not much to report on that really. I was unsure what I wanted to get out of it, but I think it was positive, but without immediate action. However, a future ‘call to action’ was tabled, so that’s something I guess!

Have you ever had something ‘explode’ in your hands? Well in my first story, if I could even call it a story. I talk about holding a plate and having it break in half, maybe I’ve got some sort of ‘zen’ power!!

Have you ever done a job, that’s interesting, but not exciting? I think this would be a fair assessment of an Archaeology dig I helped out on recently. Basically we were digging 50×50cm square pits, to a depth of ‘that cant go any further’ Interesting, unexciting, but a good workplace.

ABBA, have a new album out. So I thought because I’m a mildly good son, I’d get it for my mothers Christmas gift. However, despite it having an ‘arrival’ date of November 5th, and it being ‘available’ online from the retailer, it’s not here yet. I received a call from the retailer a few days ago, basically saying they don't have it and they don't know when they’ll get supply. Thanks for that…..

Do you like ‘Reaction Videos’ because, shocker, I think they’re a bit lame. Firstly why would you want to watch someone watching something? And secondly it shows how sheltered some people are, in regards to the rest of the world. Not much more to say on that!

Do you sometimes wear clothes that are not ‘associated’ to your gender? On a recent trip to Target, I observed a guy wearing a pair of saucy red heels! Like not a stiletto situation, but a heeled ‘woman's’ shoe. Cowboy boots have a heel so who cares!, but the noise, why so clunky. Is that the word I want to use, I guess it is because I have….

I was riding my Mountain Bike around a bit of parkland the other day, there is various tracks and dog areas at this particular location. Anyway, I was coming up behind someone who was walking, and as I overtook them I ‘scared’ them a little. After I apologised for doing so, I decided I should go back and have a bit more of a chat with said person, so I did a quick loop back to near where it all went down. The person however, was literally nowhere to be see, they’d completely disappeared and im at a total loss at to where exactly. That got me thinking, did that person only exist for the sole purpose of that chance encounter, and the universe took them away after I decided I wanted more interaction? Or most likely im completely overthinking it…..

Im sure someone has loused up your age, but I had someone recently think I was 40!, and when I told them what my actual age was, they had a slight meltdown. I’m not sure if it’s a complement or a ‘slap in the face’ to have someone think you’re 40, maybe I’m a wise soul or something like that. Who knows….

I was making myself a delicious Milo one night, and as I went to push the lid back onto the can, I somehow managed to push the lid straight into the can! I then fished the lid out and it was well buckled, so I gave it a bit of an unbuckle and I then carefully pushed it back onto the can.

I’m not really sure what to say on this, basically I saw some bloke carrying a door down the road, the door looked pretty new. I can only assume ol mate had been to one of the hardware stores, got himself a door and carried it home?

Have you ever had someone have a complete bitch about something, then you suggest an alternative, but they just shut that down too. That’s the essence of this first segment, in current times you’ve got to ‘sign in’ to businesses etc when you’re out and about, to help with tracing if someone gets the coz. Anyway, to get into the hospital, spoiler you’ve got to ‘sign in’ I was talking to someone who was having a meltdown over this, but when I said that they could go to a side entrance, for their purposes instead of actually entering the building. (They were picking up medication from the hospital pharmacy) They weren't having a bar of it.

Back in episode 27 of the Podcast, I talked about Jury Duty, well I was on it again this past few weeks. However this time I got a case! It was an interesting experience, and I was surprised by the sheer admin of a trial, every person just about in the court room getting copies of photos of evidence etc. And it was all to be destroyed after the trial, what a waste!

Wrapping things up, on Monday I had to go and have a procedure, one I’ve had a heap of times. After I woke up and was in the recovery area, I noticed a bit of paperwork that had the start and finish times of my procedure, and it worked out to be a grant total of 6 minutes! Those doctors work quick...

I obviously must have been watching some crime show, because I’ve had a thought brought on by something, possibly by my recent watching of “A Touch of Frost” or “The Bill’. That thought was, why do criminals always keep some sort of key evidence that ends up in them getting nicked!. Burn stuff or toss it in the river, don’t run it through the wash and keep the stuff in your house, CRAZY.

Last weekend, myself and a group of cobbers went out on the sauce! Not too much sauce, but we did consume three bottles of wine. After we left the wine bar (wine is also sold at other bars too, apparently….) we went to a craft beer joint, where some ‘twelvie’ tried to ‘pull’ someone from our group. When I say ‘pull’ I mean to ‘get with’ or ‘score’ not to pull off, like someone who I told this story to thought.

Did you ever do the ‘beep test’? Most likely at school id suggest, I did one a few weeks back and did pretty well. Out of 150 (I think) levels I got to something like 138, and also smoked the physio in the process who was doing it “against medical advice” I made a quick video for the, Luke Who’s Talking Vlog, I’ll pop a link here, if you want to watch.

Last week, the day of my birthmas to be precise, I saw a dash cam moment. Simply, someone driving up off the highway on ramp. I can only assume they went down the ramp thinking it went somewhere else, then deciding they didn’t want to commit to the highway. So they did a u-turn and drove back up the ramp, WILD!

Shockingly, I listen to some podcasts. A financial/investment podcast I listen too, but have somewhat fallen out of love with it, made a BIG CALL. Said call was that Spotify ‘saved’ the music industry. Super, spicy hot take, however im not so sure. iTunes probably has done more than Spotify, given it was around 5 years before Spotify existed.

Wrapping things up, I saw a Fire Truck on the street the other day, and I also heard a fire alarm going off, exciting right? Well, when I rounded a nearby corner, I saw another Fire Truck, a big crane type one, but no fire. No fire, no water all over the road, no drama. It’s good someones property wasn’t on fire, but it doesn’t give me an exciting story for the podcast.

So I went arse over on the mountain bike, causing a hurty on my knee. That’s about it, I was making a sharpish left turn on a moist surface, and slippo.

I’ve not been overly interested in the Olympics, however I’ve been following the Woman's soccer tournament. The Australian team, aptly called “The Matildas” have done a pretty solid job, at time of recording they were set to play the USA in the Bronze Medal match, and I thought they were a solid chance of winning it. Unfortunately they went down 4-3, but I still love them anyway!

I mentioned back in episode 75 (Jump) that I’d taken a new rig for a spin, well, I decided to order one. After some ‘procrastination’ about it all, so when my new vehicle turns up in late Sep/early Oct. I’ll quite possibly do a video on it, I probably should because content and all that.

This was a classic move by the kid next door, I was out in the yard picking up ‘Dog leavings’ I heard a clang and shocker there was a ball over the fence. I got the ball for the kid, then pretty much instantly, they torped the ball into the air and it landed on their garage, classic kid move.

As some of you may or may not know, im a mildly avid cyclist. I was out with the group and got a flat tyre, after some mild faffing and someone taking over, the flat got ‘fixed’ but it quite wasn’t. After we set off again, someone else got a flat and whilst that was getting fixed, I decided to top up my ‘fixed’ tyre, in the process I broke my valve, I then limped the bike back home and did a proper repair job and haven’t had any issues since!

A friend of mine is the squire of board games, and they were in full squire mode when another friend recently had a birthday party. This meant bonkers board games a plenty, one in particular played into my prolific ‘story telling’ skills…. I can’t remember what I was actually called, but it was some sort of detective game. You’ve got one murderer an accomplice and everyone else are detectives, classic stuff.

Firstly, lets talk about emails. A few weeks ago (probably) I sent three different businesses around town emails, just asking if they might have any positions opening up soon. I get businesses are busy and all that, but it took like a week before I got any sort of reply back, a bit average I thought. However hopefully it has all lead to something, but knowing my luck it’ll probably all fall apart!

Tuesday was the ‘winter solstice’ so my cycling group organised a winter solstice ride, genius plan. It kicked off at about 7am, and after a short ride to a lookout over the city (that I didn’t actually know existed) we got to not see the sunrise because of the fog/mist that was about, classic. But at least we got a coffee and churros afterwards.

Wrapping things up with a hot topic, that I don't think actually needs to be that hot, that is the gesture of ‘taking a knee’ during the Euro 2020 soccer tournament, the England team has been getting boos from the crowd whilst they’ve been making the gesture before games. Is this bad? what do people think the gesture stands for? I share some thoughts on this.

Yeah, so I took a new vehicle for a test drive the other week. As I’ve possibly mentioned before im wanting a slight off roader, so I can do some gravel etc, but nothing too massive for everyday driving. I’ve settled on a Subaru XV, it has that all wheel drive capability and also isnt a big slug of a vehicle, I probably should order one at some point.

Next, animals for sport, controversial. However, my brother entered his two doggies in a ‘High Jump’ competiton at one of the local shows and won!!. One dog won the ‘medium’ category, managing 1.8m and the other won the ‘big’ category jumping 2.2m. Video: https://youtu.be/FZI2mixT7Vs

To wrap things almost up, just a rundown of my 65 Roses Challeenge, I managed to ride 720km, and raise just over $1,000. Thank you to everyone who go on board with it, whether you made a donation or just shared posts, or even just started a conversation about it.

Now to actually wrap things up, im going to be changing Podcast Hosting, because I can get what I think is a better deal, so hopefully this podcast will still ‘work’ properly and you wont have any problems with it. Here’s hoping anyway!!

Secondly, my insulin pump having a meltdown on me, the battery wasn't contacting quite properly so I had to put some foil on the battery cap for it to power back up, great job (insert manufacturers name here)

And to wrap things up, I got honked by someone on a motorbike while I was reversing out of the driveway, said ‘biker’ obviously couldn't wait like 20 seconds for me to move, I should have been a jerk and just stopped in the road for like 2 minutes.
