It's time for us to discuss "Ask Me About My Uterus" by Abby Norman, her memoir about her eight-year journey to get diagnosed with endometriosis. We picked this book because it takes women almost seven years on average to get diagnosed with endometriosis, which is insane given that 176 million women worldwide suffer with the disease.

We start things off with book news, then jump into some pretty heavy topics. TRIGGER WARNING: we discuss doctor's unwillingness to believe women in pain. It's finally here! Today, Pixie and Maria are discussing "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas. It's only the hottest book of the year...and we're gonna dig right in!

If you missed our background episode on the book and author, go ahead and give Episode 3 a listen before you start this one. That one is safe, but be warned: this episode contains major spoilers! (It also contains Pixie's hilarious moving story...you definitely don't want to miss it!) Oh, and we announce our October read. Hint: it's got Spielberg ties.

It's here! It's here! It's finally here! Welcome to Episode 1 of the Misfit Book Club Podcast!

The Misfit Book Club is for regular people who struggle with the craziness that being in a real-life book club entails. You get to read with us at your own pace, listen when it's convenient, and join in when you've got the time. And that's it! No meetings at strange places at weird times. No funky finger food you have to pretend to like. Just good books, better conversation, and a lot of laughs!
