Episode Notes

Adrienne chats with Carmina Berbari about navigating the various sides of the Montreal (mostly stand-up) comedy scene. Known for being “Gen Z’s last she/her”, and in the mainstream comedy scene for being “funny for a woman”, Carmina sticks to her pronouns out of fear of becoming just FUNNY. She is your favourite comedian’s favourite comedian and addicted to Depop — and I couldn’t be happier to have her on Queer Ears.

She’ll be performing at Ladyfest (https://www.ladyfest.ca/) this week (September 3-8), and if you stay tuned until the end of the episode, she’ll give you exclusive access to the rest of her schedule for the month.

Episode Notes

Hello and welcome to the Queer Ears podcast!

My name is Adrienne Roy and I have spent summer 2024 living, breathing, researching, sleeping, and eating (in that order) queer life in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. As a queer stand-up and sketch comedian with a touch of narcissism, my interest in and deep appreciation for the queer and femme arts and culture scene in this city, including the rich history of a long-standing CKUT radio show called Dykes on Mykes, is at the centre of this podcast.

In this episode, I tell you a bit about myself, the direction of this podcast, and its connection to Dykes on Mykes. I hope you enjoy it, and maybe even decide to stick around.
