Our third episode features the wonderful Tammy Haili'ōpua Baker. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. As a Director/Playwright/Theatre Educator/Scholar, her work centers on the development of an indigenous Hawaiian theatre aesthetic and form, language revitalization, and the empowerment of cultural identity through stage performance.

Welcome to our first episode of Solwata Kin featuring the incredible, Torika Bolatagici. Torika is a Fijian-Australian mother, artist and educator who produces multidisciplinary projects centering the counter-narrative of marginalised histories and knowledges through curatorial collaboration, photography, video, installation and publication. Torika is a lecturer in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University and has a PhD from the School of Art and Design, University of New South Wales on the topic 'Somatic Sotia: Commodity, Agency and the Fijian Military Body.'

The sere sung at the end of this episode is a lullaby called O o baua, and is recorded and sung by Emele Ugavule. It's shared as both a reference to a work by Torika Bolatagici called 'Ecology/Economy' and a lullaby that Emele's father sings to her son often.
