You probably suck at Valorant.

It's okay, I do too.

I'm PonderousSealion and it's my goal to make both of us better Valorant players. I used to be the host of League of Legends Radio, a game which I happen to NOT suck at. And while you might not expect there to be much similarity between a MOBA and a first person shooter, I expect the overlap to be greater than you think. Because I believe that learning any multiplayer game, or any skill for that matter, relies on a set of very similar building blocks.

I'm going to teach those building blocks and apply them myself to prove that you don't need a competitive FPS background to excel at Valorant. You just need to have a plan of attack.

The Case for SoloQ in Valorant / 5-27-2020

Ranking systems have always been a source of contention in competitive gaming- questions like “What’s fair?” and “How can I tell if that guy is really better than me?” crop up frequently.

This week I’ll be talking about Riot Games’s controversial stance to create only one ranked ladder that allows teams of any size to compete on the same battlefield. Personally, I’m of the opinion that SoloQ is a staple that should remain in the game as a separate option. I’ll talk about why I feel that way in the episode and why I feel that the little guy (AKA the solo players) will suffer the most trying to climb this season.

To read Riot’s original blogpost detailing their decision on the ranked ladder, click here: https://beta.playvalorant.com/en-us/news/game-updates/04-on-peeker-s-advantage-ranked/
