If your blind shell has locked up and pressing and holding the star button doesn't appear to unlock the phone, force your phone to restart is to press and hold the back button. That's the slanted line directly above number three and you want to press and hold that for approximately 15 seconds. You'll feel a longer vibration and once you feel that, go ahead and release the back button. After about 28 seconds you'll hear the startup sound and the phone should come back up and be operational. This is a good way to restart the phone if it freezes up and you need to and not have to take out the battery.
