Need tips for using your Amazon Alexa? Join Lucy on all about Lady A on the second Thursday of the month for simple tricks to get the most out of your a lady device, listen on the Unmute Presents podcast feed. See you there. Oh, yeah. Did I mention you can also check out unmute show for all past episodes and to get more information about what we've got going on.

00:29.050 --> 00:48.402
Hello, everyone, and welcome to Unmute on a different day and a different time. Good to see everybody here. We're going to be doing something a little different. We're going to be making some announcements, and we are going to be talking about a few things here. But first, before we get into all that, Michael Babcock's also here with us tonight. So, Michael, how's it going?

00:48.466 --> 01:05.006
Hello, Marty. I'm excited because it's different and I like differentness. We have some fun things to announce highly, looking for some involvement from the community. So stay tuned for some of this. We did, Marty, take it from here and then we can jump in there. So go ahead, Marty.

01:05.198 --> 02:42.838
All right. Well, so the first thing is, we would love to hear from you guys any comments or any ideas that you may have or would like to see from unmute. So you can either raise your hand here and we'll take questions here, like in a little bit after we announce some stuff. And then you could also email us. And if you want to email us, you can email us at feedback Unmute show. And you can also check out our website at Unmute Dot show. And so with that all being said, the first thing that we want to talk about is club unmute. So the first thing is, is currently club Unmute is $3 a month. And after the first of the year, we're going to be bumping it up to 499. Now, if you're already signed up and you're at $3 level, as long as you don't stop, you just stay at the $3 level and you get grandfathered in. So if you are at the $3 level and you stay there, you'll just be continuing at the $3 and you won't see any changes. The other thing that we've implemented due to popular demand is before we only had it so you could pay by the month, but we had a lot of requests for can you pay by the year? So now you can pay by the month or you can pay for a whole year up front. Another thing that we have now is that you can actually gift unmute. So you can go into your account and we've got little certificates there, and you can go and give that to a friend, a family member, whoever, if you want to gift unmute to someone. So, Michael, you want to chime in on any of that there?

02:42.934 --> 04:24.196
Yeah, and we'll mention this. We'll mention part of that in a moment. But there's ways to get free membership as well. Just saying. We'll leave that at there if people are interested. And I have gotten some feedback from some people that say, hey, you're charging for some of your education. And really what we charge for is we're not actually charging people money to get access to information. The charge is really to support what we're doing at unmute, and it gives us an opportunity to grow some of the projects we're in. None of the free content we are offering right now is going away. And actually, we're going to be releasing some more free content going into next year, I think, as well, that we'll talk about here in a couple of minutes. So no need to worry about any of that free content going away, if that's a concern for you. Um, we just wanted to be transparent with individuals and let you guys know, hey, we are going to be increasing the club unmute, which we have been soft pushing. I don't think we've been pushing it as hard as we probably should have been, but that is something that, that we are changing here shortly, and I'm excited to see where that goes. As Marty said, if you're already an existing member, then you don't have to do anything. If you want to lock in your rate right now and not have to worry about it for the next year, you can upgrade your membership to an annual membership. You actually get two months free when you do that. And as he was saying, you can give the gift of unmute as well because, you know, we got Christmas coming up and other holidays. So, Marty, what else do we got going about holidays? Hey, that was a smooth transition. I didn't even mean to do it.

04:24.348 --> 05:39.094
Yeah, that was great. So a couple of other things regarding club unmute. The first thing is you're going to start seeing ads. Small ads are not going to be too obtrusive. They'll typically be at the very beginning, and possibly sometimes they'll be short, short ad in the middle of the different shows that we do. But if you're a club unmute member, you will not get the ads. So if you don't want ads, that's a good reason to join. We just finished up doing the braille class, which was incredible. And our friend Chris was super awesome. She came out and just rocked it. Everyone had a great time. It was super fun. So we thank her for that and everyone who was there had a great time doing that as well. So that was really awesome. At the beginning of the year, going into January, we're going to be starting the year off with the second round of Jaws classes. So Marcy does that and she's always super awesome and we get great feedback from her and she has a great time and everyone else does also. So if that's something you're interested in learning, Jaws, then that would be a good reason to sign up. And that will be starting after the first of the year when we come back from the holidays. Now, Michael is going to be launching a new class starting in October. And do you want to talk about that, Michael?

05:39.182 --> 10:03.800
I do. So starting in October, we've heard the desire from a couple of listeners of ours and from other people in the community, and I'm going to do, it's not going to be as comprehensive and in depth as others, but it is going to give you enough knowledge that because we're going to kind of do some of this to an extent that I think people will enjoy it. We are launching a four week WordPress course. This WordPress course is going to show you how you would launch your own website. If you're interested in launching the website, it'll talk you through the process of seeking out domain names, connecting with the best domain registrar. We'll then discuss with you what web hosting is, how to get the best web hosting, where you might be able to, what you might want to look into when you're looking for a web host. And then we'll talk you through the process of installing WordPress. Those who don't know WordPress is a content management system that allows you to build your own website online and it will give you the ability to add on to that website. So once we get WordPress installed, we'll go through a brief orientation of the WordPress admin dashboard. I did something similar to that at ACB national and this time you'll actually hear my jaws and or voiceover depending on what machine I'm in, because I'm going to be giving some tips from both platforms for that. We will then walk you through what's a page, what's a post, what's a category, what's a tag, how do I configure all of that? We'll go into the settings and give you a brief overview of what you can find in the general settings why you might want to go into the reading settings and change the reading settings around a little bit from the default. How best to interact with comments? Do you even need comments on your website? Because that's something that I think a lot of people don't consider when they're putting up a new website. Well then go through the process of what I use to and I'm going to share some of my AI tricks too. What I use to be able to quickly generate copy or words on a page for you and then how we take those words from a page and put them onto WordPress. And then how you can go in and configure the way that the links look. For example, my words website.com homepage versus my website.com random texts and letters and numbers and hyphens. Once we do that, then I expect that that'll take us through probably the first two, maybe two and a half weeks because it depends on the pace that we're working, depending on questions that members have as well. But I really want to touch on the aesthetics of your website. I have someone who is interested in doing a whole section or a whole whole course on visual elements and building your website to look good from a blindness perspective. But I think it's important before we jump into his, his experiences with that, being able to give you the foundation so you know what you need to do when you need to make some changes. Just a quick caveat to this, there's a lot of site builders that work with WordPress that are amazing and make your website fully accessible and they look beautiful. But if you as a blind user, need to go in and update your phone number or change your hours, guess what? You're out of luck. So we'll talk about how we can prevent that from being an issue for you as a website admin. We'll wrap it up by talking about plugins and how plugins can extend the functionality of your website. I'll give you a brief demonstration of gravity forms, my favorite form building plugin, and give you some ideas on what you can do to integrate gravity forms with the rest of the World Wide web. And nothing. Just your website. So that's coming in October. We were going to start at the first Tuesday of the month and then I realized the first Tuesday of the month is Tuesday. So I'm not exactly 100% sure if we're going to start it on the first or if we're going to start it on. I think that would be the 7th that following Tuesday, but club members will know for sure on Monday of what we're doing. So that's the WordPress course. Are you excited, Marty?

10:04.100 --> 10:05.960
Oh, yeah. That's going to be super fun.

10:06.430 --> 10:06.910
Good.

10:06.990 --> 10:58.542
So a couple of other things that also club come with club unmute. There is a special education discount that you get as long as you're a current member through computers for the blind. And if you have questions or anything that you'd like to know about that, you can always contact Marcy over there at computers for the blind. She always is super awesome with helping you out and getting you where you need to go. So there's that. We're also going to be dropping, um, content that isn't going to be public facing every so often, some special things. Also, uh, we're going to get possibly some discounts on services and products and we share that with the club members, um, things like that. So check all that out at our website. It's, uh, super fun. And um, there you go. That's what we're doing with the club now. So Michael, you want to start off with the other thing?

10:58.676 --> 11:38.240
Yeah. So I'm gonna ask you to explain part of this in a moment. But we mentioned Christmas and Christmas means holiday season, and holiday season means you gotta go out to Amazon and find, I mean, you don't have to, but your friends and family expect slash want slash. Maybe you want to go out and buy your friends and family gifts. And if you're anything like me, you kind of wonder, what should I buy that person? My life as a gift. So Marty, what did we do last year before you got sick and didn't join me?

11:40.140 --> 13:03.030
Well, what we did was an unmute gift guide. And so we had all of our friends around the community that outside of the community too. Outside the community, in the community, all over. We had all walks of from everywhere people come that we're friends with and that we know and services and all kinds of stuff. We did an unmute holiday gift guide and we put that all together, together and we dropped that just before the holidays last year so people could listen and get some really good ideas for the holidays. So with that being said, we are about to start working on this year's Unmute holiday gift guide. And with that, we're going to be reaching out to all of our friends and people in the community, but we're also putting it out there to all of you guys. So anyone who wants to participate in that, all you have to do is record yourself and talk about whatever the product or service or whatever it is. And then you can go to our website and then you can upload your recording and then we will take that and we will mesh that in with the whole rest of the episode that we're going to be building and we're actually going to be dropping it on Black Friday. We figure that's the day that everyone is so full they can't move anymore and they all need to go run around and spend all of the money they didn't spend on food for Thanksgiving.

13:03.150 --> 13:03.990
So yeah.

13:04.030 --> 13:05.694
And Michael, you want to chime in on that?

13:05.782 --> 15:21.150
This year I plan to be doing a whole blog post with links to all of these gift guide ideas. Last year, what happened? Full transparency. We were going to host our holiday gift guide in community and I was all set up with Farrago. If you are not a Firago user, it's a soundboard application on the Mac. And I had all these audios queued up ready to go and we had audio from several different individuals. One person mentioned be my AI, another person mentioned the drink poster. Another person mentioned a anchor cube that you can get. And I'll ask Marty if you remember any of the other ones cause I literally just listened to it and I'm drawing a blank right now. So see if you can remember any of them in a couple of minutes. But we were gonna host it and I was gonna come and play. Marty and I were gonna banter back and forth and share some ideas after each audio and then unfortunately he got sick. So if you are curious and you want to hear what last year sounded like, and maybe it'll give you some inspiration either for gifts this year or it'll give you some ideas for what you want to submit to the Unmute holiday gift guide. You can head on over to unmute show forward slash gift. That's where you go to upload your audio as well. We're looking for them to be 90 seconds or less. We want to be quick and to the point where we don't care about your sound quality. You can record this on, on your iPhone, record this on a, on a victor. I don't really care. Just get us your audio however you can. We'll clean it up if we need to and post. But go to unmute show Slash gift. You'll get the details about the episode and how you can submit it, but you'll also get a link to last year's episode where I ended up commentating throughout the entire episode because definitely wanted to give you something and didn't want to just drop these random voices out on the Internet. Oh, oh. One other thing that we got mentioned or that someone else suggested on last year's gift guide was a hand vacuum, which I didn't think I need. But now, yeah, hand vacuums are nice and they sure help you with keeping your desk clean. Just saying.

15:21.730 --> 16:14.492
I believe we also, I think who. Someone had a couple of speakers. One, I remember the JBL clip. I think Romeo talked about that one. That was really cool. I actually heard from some people that actually bought that speaker last year for themselves and also for a holiday gift guide, like a stocky stuffer because it was great sound and it was really utilitarian and you were also able to take it with you everywhere you want to go because it runs on a battery and it sounds pretty good. So comes in multiple colors and all that. I don't know if they're going to have a new one of those this year or not, but that was one of the things that we got submitted last year and we got a couple of services in and around the community and beyond. It was a good show last year. So go and check that out and listen to last year's. What we're putting together this year's definitely.

16:14.556 --> 17:00.110
And the gift guide, really the purpose of it is to get you thinking about some of those more creative ideas of things that you might want to gift to someone. Oh, that was when I was thinking of Sean Priest jumped on and gave us a idea for a. Yeah, I think it's $25 fingerprint reader that you can put on your Windows computer. So if you want to use your fingerprint to sign in, but your computer doesn't support Touch ID or touch unlock, then you can pick this fingerprint reader up and plug it in via USB. So it is. It is a dangerous show. And I do apologize half heartedly for the fact that hopefully you'll want to go out and spend a little bit of money with the gift ideas. We'll be published.

17:00.790 --> 17:31.518
Definitely. So that is the holiday gift guide. So we are super excited about that and we hope that you participate. It would be cool to hear some of the ideas you guys come up with. And we also have other people that are going to be contributing as well in the community as well as outside of the community. So it should be a good time. And if you want to participate, make sure that you get it in. What's the deadline that we're doing for the recordings to end? What's the last day, that Friday before.

17:31.574 --> 17:37.890
Black Friday that I can't remember what day it is? I think it's the 23 November, but it's the Friday before Thanksgiving.

17:38.230 --> 18:01.732
All right, awesome. So keep that in mind. We're quickly going into the holidays. I can't even believe we're about to hit October. It's so crazy to me. It seems like this year just flies by, but we're almost there. So summer's ending. We're into fall here pretty quick, and it's going to be the holidays before you know it. So with that being said, you have anything else, Michael, on that you want to.

18:01.876 --> 18:07.540
Nope, that's all I have. You want to talk about the other community involvement projects?

18:07.620 --> 18:09.260
Yes, I will do that.

18:09.300 --> 18:11.160
I do have a lot to say about that one.

18:11.700 --> 19:22.556
So this is what we're doing. We want to see what kind of talent and ideas people have out there. So what we're asking people to do, if you want to participate is to record something. I believe we decided on about five minutes, right, Michael? Is that what we're going with? We're going with five minutes. So what you do is you, if you have a podcast idea or a show idea, you know, kind of do a demo of it five minutes long, you know, talk about the title and then the topic, whatever, it would be just as if you were recording yourself to put it out there. And that can be also submitted on our website and uploaded. And we're going to listen to them all and we're going to see, you know, what kind of ideas people have, what kind of talent people have, and we're going to go from there. And if someone or, or someone's plural have some good ideas, and it's something that we can implement into the unmute ecosystem. And then someone, we get an opportunity to be able to regularly be on unmute with a new show that's going to be coming out. So if that's something that interests you, then definitely do that. And Michael, what else do you want to talk about with that?

19:22.708 --> 26:16.680
So I am passionate about teaching. I like to teach and hear the, the experience people receive when they learn something new that can positively impact their life. As an example, I taught someone not too long ago that you can use a braille display with your iPhone. And he's a huge braille reader. And when he was able to read the braille, read what his phone was saying on braille and not have to listen to what his phone was saying, he was very excited, and I was, I was happy to hear his excitement and he took that and ran with it. So what we want to do with this opportunity for releasing a new tech show. And we have a couple of people who have, have launched some tech shows on the unmute platform in the past, and I think they've had great experiences, at least I'd like to hope that that has been the case. They had an opportunity to launch their show and focus on the content that they want to produce and not focus on the tech behind it. There's a lot of tech that goes behind publishing a show, from recording the content to editing it. Of course, if that's what you want to do, to clean up some of the UHS and AHS and the mouse smacks that you might get. So there's a lot of editing when it comes down to creating your content. But you also have to find a logo or get a logo created. Make sure that that logo is 1400 pixels by 1400 pixels square at minimum, or 3000 pixels by 3000 pixels square as well. Now what? What did you just say, Michael? That's the point. We don't want people to have to worry about what it is that you need to get in order to get your show to put together. We want to provide an opportunity for people to come and share the technology knowledge that we've all gotten. We all have a different level of technology and can take those skills and share them with someone else and help impact what their life is. Now, what I tell people when they're producing content is talk to yourself ten years ago, and you might think, what does that mean? Because a lot of times when you sit down in front of a microphone, you might say, well, I don't know what to talk about. Teach yourself what you didn't know ten years ago, but you know now. So, for example, I didn't know how to. I'm trying to think of something that I've recently taught myself. I didn't know how to build a gravity form ten years ago. I think I just started building gravity forms again. Going back to the WordPress knowledge back in 2019, 2018 is when I really started getting involved with using that tool. But now I can take the knowledge and no, I'm not an expert, but I can talk to myself a couple of years ago, and there is someone at that level that is trying to learn the technology that we want to teach them. Or better yet, an example of this is our shell phone show. When we publish a shell, a shell phone show piece of content, this shell phone show is talking to someone who's picking up a blind shell classic two. And thinking, what do I do with this? How do I add a note to my notes? Or how do I browse the web, or how do I set up my email account on the blind shell classic two? And those are all questions that I asked myself two years ago when I first put my hands on a blind shell. Well, three years ago, when I first put my hands on a blind shell classic two and I had to walk a customer through, how do I set up my email? I don't know. Let me go poke around, push some buttons, try to figure it out. And so now we're trying to teach others how to do that. Again, we don't want the tech to stand in your way. We realize that sound quality might not be the best when you're submitting your show. But right now, we're just looking for ideas and ways we can help improve and get those ideas out there to the community. And of course, what will happen is we'll publish the show on the Unmute presents podcast feed. It'll also go up on unmute show. And then, then at any point, because I think it's very important that we mention this, at any point, you can reach out to us and say, hey, Marty, Michael, you know, I really like this podcasting thing. I don't necessarily want to stick with unmute show. Appreciate what you guys have done for us, but I'd like to take my content and publish it on my podcast feed. And we're going to be more than happy on my own podcast feed. We're going to be more than happy to help facilitate and make sure that you have access to all the content you've published so you can upload that to your own podcast feed. We'll even be happy to help you with getting your own podcast feed published if you want. But if you never want to worry about that and you just want to come and produce content and let us publish it onto unmute show, we'll be perfectly happy. Now, I did mention free membership as well earlier in this call. So what we have done is we have partnered with the individuals who are publishing content through unmute right now. And those members, because they're providing content and unmute is driven by the content that we are publishing. We have given those members free access to club Unmute. So that'll continue throughout the time the individuals continue to publish content with us and or, you know, producing that with us. And so that is the idea for our show content submissions in about 90 seconds, maybe two minutes. I got to finish changing in some settings on this page because I just realized it wasn't working. It's up, but I haven't fixed it you and I'll let you know when you can. I'll hand it over to Marty to get his thoughts on other people publishing content with Unmute. Why he why he's passionate about what we're doing on Unmute. He'll share that with you guys in a couple of minutes. And Marty can also add any additional information. I mean, I could talk for the entire time, but I can't talk and manipulate my computer and engage people at the same time. So once that's done again in a couple of minutes, you can go to unmute show idea again. Unmute show slash idea. And we will be mentioning this on the live show. This content will be published to the podcast. And so, so you can go back to that if you're interested. But unmute dot show. I almost said.com unmute dot show slash idea. And Marty, why do you do what you do with unmute?

26:17.260 --> 29:09.048
Because people struggle a lot of the time with technology. So, like, what we do, as everybody knows, is technology and accessibility. There's a lot of people that really struggle with the technology. They're not people who maybe are techie but now need to learn tech because, you know, they're starting to lose their vision or they have lost their vision. So, you know, it's a whole thing. And so I do it because I want to make sure that I can give back and help, you know, people in whatever way that we can. So that's really important. And I know that people we work with and beyond and friends of the show of unmute, they do that as well. There's a lot of really awesome resources in the community and beyond to help with all the different kinds of technology and everything from the easiest, most beginner things and all the way up through intermediate and even advanced. So I do it because I like to give back and help people if that's something that is possible. And this is our way of being able to do that. So that's why I do it. And, you know, in this technology industry that we're in, it changes so fast. You've got to be up to date all the time, and as soon as you learn something, they change it. Now, that's not always a good thing. I know one of the biggest frustrations for myself and many other people is you finally get used to something, and then all of a sudden they come out with an update and they change it all. And they move everything all around and put it all in different places. And it's like learning all over again sometimes, which is really frustrating, they do that in grocery stores also. And I don't know why, but it's really frustrating once you figure out where everything is and then they move it all on you. So, anyway, the other thing I wanted to also talk about here really quickly is when you're, or if you're going to sit down and submit something, whether it's to us or you want to do your own thing or whatever, we've been doing this a long time, so, you know, we have all this gear to make our audio sound the way it does, but that's not what the important thing is. The important thing is the content. So you don't need any fancy equipment. If you have a smartphone, all you have to do is open up your recording app and you hit record and just do your thing right into the phone and that it's good enough. I mean, there's no podcast or I, or broadcast or anything that you're going to do unless you have some great ideas. You can have all the equipment in the world that's going to make you sound amazing. But if you don't have the content, none of that matters. So you don't need to go out and spend a bunch of money. You don't need to do any of that. Everyone has a smartphone for the most part. You can use a digital recorder or smartphone. There's all kinds of things out there. You can use your computer. So just think about content and getting it recorded in whatever easiest, simplest way you have. And then down the line, we can worry about the quality of the sound and all of that stuff later on.

29:09.224 --> 29:11.016
So I want.

29:11.048 --> 29:17.824
This is going to be fun. We're excited to see what talent's going to come from everybody, and it should be a good time. So what we're going to say, michael.

29:17.912 --> 31:00.252
I want unmute show to be the go to resource for you to get a wide variety of technology, news and education. Right now, we are lacking in the tech news field. So I'm just. Just wink, wink, nudge, nudge. If you're interested in a news show or something of that nature. That's actually, I think, wasn't it, Marty? I said, we need to find someone who's interested in publishing a show, kind of like dtns, but I don't got the time or energy to publish that show right now. And that's kind of why we're like, huh? I wonder if there's someone in the community or a group of someone's in the community that's interested in publishing content and. And fair, to be fair, unmute show is a fairly simple website. It's. It's very small. We are, though, we've been doing this for three years now, very down to earth. We are not anywhere at this point where I want to be with our downloads. That, that also comes down to marketing, which we're in the process of working on ramping up a yemenite full marketing campaign. But. But it's a good opportunity to get in at a place where you want to or where you're able to help a lot of individuals with finding their, their tech knowledge and education. So we are at 30 minutes. And, Marty, do you have anything else you want to bring up? He look, that was bright. Really perfect. I wanted to do 30 minutes in the beginning, but do you have anything else you want to bring up right now, or do you want to recap what we've just talked about today? Oh, and unmute show slash idea is working now.

31:00.436 --> 31:04.040
There you go. See? A few minutes, just like he said, lickety split.

31:06.540 --> 31:06.948
Good.

31:07.004 --> 32:51.888
Yeah, so we, we've got club on mute. You know, if you're there and you're already signed up, $3 is where you'll stay and you'll get all the new perks and everything else. If you're new coming in, it would be 499 starting after the first of the year. So if it's something you're interested in, sign up in the next, you know, before the end of the year and you'll stay at that $3 level. So you can do the month by month or you can do the whole year. You can also gift club unmute. So that could be a holiday gift stocking stuffer for someone if that's something you want to give away this holiday season. And we're going to have some ads that are going to be implemented into the public facing shows that we do. And then in the club, there won't be any ads on any of the shows. We're going to be dropping some extra content from time to time. So that will be things that only club gets to hear or at least hear first before anyone else gets to hear it. Depending on what it is, there'll be some exclusive deals and offers to club members, like computers for the blind and other things that we're working on in the background. So all of that is going on with club unmute. And then we also have the holiday gift guide. So if you want to submit something for that, that then you can do that. And you can go to the website to upload your audio, and we'll go from there. And then lastly, we have the new talent. We want to hear what you guys have. And so you can submit that also on the website. And we are going to be going through all of those and talking about that stuff and making decisions. I think, Michael, we said after the first of the years when we'll do that.

32:51.944 --> 32:52.592
Yeah, yeah.

32:52.616 --> 33:03.328
We're a gift guide deadline. Sorry. Is going to be Black Friday or the week before Black Friday, and then it's going to go live on Black Friday. So that's your timeline right there for that. What we're going to say, Michael, and.

33:03.344 --> 40:00.420
We'Re looking, so we're looking to get talent and we'll be publishing that. We'll be working on making a decision going into the new year. All this talk about podcasting, I can't even talk. I don't know what to say about that. And the other thing that I was going to mention is, and I'm looking at a few of you, I see a few club members in here. So appreciate you guys support. Definitely excited about you guys showing support for the town hall. So thank you very much and for showing support with the club. It's really appreciated. Recently, what has happened is your club unmuted podcast feed has had 25 pieces of content published to it. And that 25 pieces of content has been replays of record of classes that we have done and been in publishing those. Marty has mentioned a couple of times that club members will receive content without ads behind it. Right this minute. I think it's been two weeks now. I have put an advertisement for either the unmute presents merch or another show on the podcast network before each of the shows. And so you may have heard that recently. If you want to keep hearing that and you don't care about ads, then just stay subscribed to the current feed that you're on on our Tuesday show. So October 1, I will be publishing two different shows. The main show will be going to the main public unmute. It'll have the advertisements on it, and it'll just be be like the normal show is. But club members, your feed is going to get a little bit more busier. So you may want to pick do I want ads or do I not want ads? Because I'm also going to publish the Tuesday show, but without its ad. So starting on October 1, club members podcast feeds will start receiving that content. With no ads before it. It'll just jump right into the content. So that's exciting. If you need help with subscribing to your club feed, reach out feedback Unmute show we can get you taken care of and help you with getting subscribed to that podcast feed. And if you don't have access to your podcast feed again, reach out as well. So that's the announcements I think we had. Unmute show gift all lowercase will let you go and submit your idea for our gift guide show and if you have any questions, raise your hand and Travis will let us know if there's any hints. Not seeing any right now. Unmute Show Slash idea will let you submit your idea for a new show and we're open to a lot of different ideas for the show, specifically tech related. Please please have tech somewhere in there. It doesn't have to be a tutorial show. As I said, it could be a news update show, it could be just some ideas of some content. Could be a unboxing show. If you want to if you want to go and unbox stuff and that's all you want to do is submit us monthly content of you unboxing something new. Definitely open to exploring that. If it's a braille in Tekken Braille or braille and tech show, that could be a fun adventure as well to explore a couple of other pieces of content. Right now we have one Android show a month and one Mac show month. Definitely open to those options. As a quick recap for those who may not know, on Sundays we currently publish digital bites, which is a show that talks you through three different sections, myself, Marty and Chris. All three publish the content and it's about 15 minutes long. Honestly, it's probably the most popular show on the entire network is the digital bytes where we're going to be. We'll be announcing something about that in the very near future. I'm not sure if we're ready to about digital bytes again. Nothing that you currently have is going to be changing at all. So just, just be aware of that. And then the Tuesdays we do the live show, which if you're part of ACB community, you may already be familiar with that. That is where you people bring their tech questions and they ask those tech questions live. I envision what we do on Tuesdays as a live Leo Laporte or Kim Commando show where people call in with their tech questions. We answer them and then send you home with your day with some actionable insights on Wednesdays or thereabouts. Sometimes I kind of accidentally slip it up and get it on Thursday or Friday. But Wednesdays for the most part part, we published the Shell phone show, which is a five to ten minute long show showing you how to do something on the blind Shell classic, too. So you can take and you actually get to hear my phone or Adrian's phone when Adrian submits content. Thank you, Adrian. I see you there in the audience, so you get to hear our content when we publish that to the Shell phone show. And then on Thursdays. Thursdays are fun. On the first. Hey, I see Chris there, too. On the first Thursday of the month, Chris publishes her at your fingertips podcast content. That's Braille then and now the history of Braille and Braille and tech. So if you're interested in learning more about what it is you can do with Braille and your technology, check out Krista's show on the first Thursday of the month. The second Thursday of the month. Hey, Lucy's there, too. Second Thursday of the month is Lady A. All things Lady A. I always mix this up and want to call it games to play with Ada. That's not the name of the show. It's all things idea. And she shows you how to do different things, typically around a category, so she'll talk about different content that you can do. I think her most recent show was three blindness related skills that you can use with Alexa. So definitely check that out on the second Thursday of month. Third Thursday of the month, Marty and Chris sit down and have a chat about mock, have a chat about Mac on their Mac talk. See, I was. My words were blending together show. And this is a fun show where this month in September, they talked about both of their histories with the Mac and accessibility and not using accessibility and how those adventures have gone. So you want to check that out on the fourth Thursday of the month. It is all about Android. That. Nope, that's not the name because someone else already took that one. But we are talking about what's the name of that?

40:00.460 --> 40:01.292
Android unmuted.

40:01.316 --> 40:46.808
Thank you. Android unmuted. I didn't remember what it was called. So Android unmuted. That's the fourth Thursday of the month. Marcy kind of helped us with starting the Friday show, and I've kind of jumped in and started taking this on right now. And it is the jaws tips every Friday now we are sharing a jaws tip. We've shared things like research it and splitting your audio and whatever I shared today that I've already forgotten because. Yeah, anyway, so that is. That's. That's a glimpse into some of the types of content that we have published on the podcast. Marty, I've been talking a lot. Do you have anything out to you on add? It looks like, we don't have any questions. This will be podcasted.

40:46.864 --> 40:48.256
We have one, actually.

40:48.408 --> 40:49.064
Oh, we do?

40:49.112 --> 40:51.712
Okay, let's take the one, a couple of them now.

40:51.816 --> 40:52.320
Okay.

40:52.400 --> 40:53.160
Elizabeth?

40:53.240 --> 40:55.688
Hey, Elizabeth, can you hear me?

40:55.784 --> 40:56.640
We can hear you.

40:56.720 --> 41:05.792
Okay, great. Do we subscribe? So if we subscribe to unmute presents, do we get all of those or do we have to do it individually?

41:05.896 --> 41:07.580
Nope, you get all of those.

41:07.880 --> 41:11.176
Okay, good. That. That helps a lot.

41:11.328 --> 41:11.680
Yep.

41:11.720 --> 41:16.796
And then brain only does small things today, so thank you. You've helped my brain tremendously.

41:16.928 --> 41:18.052
No worries, Elizabeth.

41:18.156 --> 41:19.084
We're happy to help.

41:19.172 --> 41:21.516
Certainly. Who do we got next? Travis?

41:21.708 --> 41:23.148
All right, next is Carla.

41:23.244 --> 41:25.292
Hello, Carla. Hey.

41:25.356 --> 41:28.640
Hey, how are you doing? It's so nice to talk to you guys.

41:29.380 --> 41:31.612
Well, thank you. We appreciate that.

41:31.796 --> 42:37.840
I have an idea. I know that's dangerous, but, you know, one thing that is difficult for me is that once I teach school and I have a business to run, too, so I've never completely free, but during the school year, I always have to miss unmute presents, and I can write to you guys and everything. Do you think there would ever be a possibility, and you don't have to do it regularly, but say, once a month, do something like you're doing tonight, but sort of a chance that people that work, that might need help with their technology could call in live and you could answer questions because, you know, during the workday, sometimes it's hard for some of us. And, you know, you guys do great things, and I didn't even know about club unmute. I'm going to have to look at that. You know, I never knew about that, probably because I missed a lot of your shows. But anyhow, is that ever been a possibility or something that you folks have considered? Because it would be a great service to the community.

42:38.260 --> 43:38.774
We've actually been talking about it. We haven't come to any solid answer yet, but we have been throwing the idea around. Part of it is, you know, when would be a good time to do it, you know, because the one thing about when we do it now, we understand that a lot of people are in school or work, it is during the day, during the week. But when you get into other days and times, you run into all these other things that are going on, and we don't want to step on other people's toes, because then you're making people decide which way to go. You know what I'm saying? So we're working on it, trying to figure out what would be the best thing to do, when to do it. We don't have an answer, but we are actually currently talking about it. My other suggestion, it's not exactly the same, but you can also download the Tuesday show after we go off the air in your podcaster feed, or you can go to the website and listen to it straight away if that's something you want to do and hear the show even though you can't be there.

43:38.902 --> 44:00.074
But yes, to answer your question, yes, it is something we will explore, especially an evening and or weekend day, to give people an opportunity to participate in the live show who may not be able to in the middle of Tuesday. So thank you, Carla. Appreciate that. That justify that, that verification that it's a needed thing to happen. So thank you.

44:00.242 --> 44:03.874
Yep. Thank you. All right, we do have a few more hands right now.

44:04.002 --> 44:05.070
Go ahead, Travis.

44:05.490 --> 44:08.990
All right, Terry. Hey, Terry.

44:09.570 --> 46:00.110
Hi, everyone. I have wondered about this. If people had questions, would you ever consider doing a show where maybe once a month you took questions that were sent to a whatever email address you wanted them sent to and address them? It's not quite the same as live because you can't get clarification, but that might be a way that I'm retired now, so I don't have the problem. But when I was working, I could not have gone to your live show, which I think is one of the most fantastic things I've run into. So I wonder about that. And I also wonder about an idea. I know that one of the things that I find difficult in learning technology is memorizing and remembering the series of key presses to get a certain thing done. You know, I'm making this up, but B, A, c, three, and then you're in the right box to do what you want. And to me, that takes a lot of repetition, and I have not seen repetition emphasized in some of the trainings that I've done. I mean, there are exercises, but you really have to get some of this stuff into your fingers and your brain so that it's almost unconscious. And I wonder I if another idea might be to try when teaching a skill or two, then to just do a few repetition exercises that people could follow you along and just really have to repeat and get it into their hands and unconscious.

46:00.230 --> 46:45.210
That's an interesting concept. Both of those are, and I don't have an immediate answer on how to encompass those, but I will keep that in mind and figure out how to do that, because I see the value in a doing a show where people can just send an email, get their questions answered on the next show, but not have to, have to like, maybe it be a faster show where you just answer the questions that are emailed and then move on to the next one. And also repetition. If you don't mind dropping us an email, Terry, I'd like to talk to you a little more about that and see kind of what you're looking for. Feedback unmute show, because I'm curious how we can expand on that. So drop me an email and let's talk about that. Okay. All righty, Travis, who do we got next?

46:45.910 --> 46:48.838
We have someone just listed as iPhone.

46:48.934 --> 46:49.950
Hello, iPhone.

46:50.110 --> 46:50.542
Hello.

46:50.606 --> 46:55.014
Do you have a human there? I sent them an unmute request to.

46:55.062 --> 46:56.610
Let them know who they are.

46:57.190 --> 47:00.614
We've got about 13 minutes. All right.

47:00.782 --> 47:04.206
All right, we'll move on for now to Chris.

47:04.318 --> 47:06.484
Hey, Chris, you.

47:06.652 --> 47:10.244
Yeah, hey, good to be here.

47:10.292 --> 48:37.468
Thanks for the kudos on the. On the braille show, and it was just really super fun to do that. I wanted to just put a shout out to how awesome you guys are to work for doing the podcast with you and doing my at your fingertips. It's been great to not have to worry about. I do a little editing sometimes over editing. I accidentally edited too much last week and you fixed it up. I appreciate it. So anyway, for anybody who's just wondering, you know, everybody's great to work with and it's just really fun to just focus on your content. And also just to say, I would. I would really support the consideration of after work hours, you know, like even five or 530 or something. Up time wouldn't make it too late for the east coasters to be able to join live. And I love the idea of the emailing questions in kind of like they do at some of like, Leo's shows. They email questions in. And also, I wanted to say, I wanted to add something to our last commenter who wants tips for maybe learning things. And I have a couple ideas about that, too, so maybe I can connect with you. But thanks, guys. This is great to hear everything that's happening and to hear from some of the community.

48:37.644 --> 48:38.044
Perfect.

48:38.092 --> 48:38.540
Thanks, Chris.

48:38.580 --> 48:52.788
Chris and Terry, when you drop me an email and we'll go on to the next question here, because I see we have a couple hands in eleven minutes. But Terry, when you drop me an email, just tell me it's okay. I can forward your email to Chris and we can all stay in conversation. Travis, who do we got next?

48:52.884 --> 49:00.910
Will do. Things have completely jumped on me. Hold on. Okay, we'll go with Tammy next.

49:01.030 --> 49:01.846
Hey, Tammy.

49:01.958 --> 49:03.022
Hey, Tammy.

49:03.206 --> 49:22.682
Hi, guys. You've been hiding on me. Either that or I've been skipping and not looking at my community schedule good enough, even though I'm a host. That's terrible. My question is, how do I join? If I join club unmute, do I automatically get the invite to join the WordPress stuff?

49:22.706 --> 49:26.042
Yep. Yep. You'll get in about it because I'm.

49:26.066 --> 49:32.150
One of the ones that attended your call from the convention, and I was like, oh, my God, there's too much here for me.

49:32.730 --> 49:41.202
Well, thank you. Yeah, you'll get an email about it, and then we'll also publish to your members only podcast feed recordings of the calls as well.

49:41.386 --> 49:42.922
Okey dokey. Thank you, guys.

49:42.986 --> 49:43.570
Thanks.

49:43.730 --> 49:44.590
Thank you.

49:46.410 --> 50:37.780
All right, Greg. Hello, Gregory. I recognize that name. Hey, guys, I got a pretty good, I got an idea, maybe for a class or maybe just a meeting, maybe how people are using or learning to do prompting glasses or even the apps, because, I mean, I'm using glasses, some glasses, and some AI apps, and it's hard to really figure out which prompt to ask and get other people's ideas of how they're doing it because I've learned that if you just tweak a prompt just slightly and you get so much different, you know, better results, and I just want you guys thought about doing something like that, or just my two cent. You guys never thought about doing something like that?

50:37.900 --> 50:50.142
I think that's a good idea for sure. We can definitely take into consideration, and we haven't thought too much about that, but I think it's a good idea. We just kind of got to talk through it and see how we can actually implement it. What would be the best way to implement something like that? Michael, what do you think?

50:50.206 --> 51:05.690
I was going to say thank you for that suggestion. Gregory, I don't have an immediate answer for you, but that's the power of these town halls as we can get some ideas to act on moving forward. And you're right, it's all about the prompt. That should be like a song or something. So great suggestion. Thanks, Gregory.

51:06.190 --> 51:08.474
All right. All right. Lucy.

51:08.602 --> 51:09.590
Hey, Lucy.

51:10.050 --> 51:49.654
Hey. All right, I just wanted to echo what Chris said, that you guys are awesome to work with and has been really enjoyable doing my all things lady, a podcast feed. I have really enjoyed doing that. So I just wanted to let everybody know that if you have any suggestions that you want me to do something, talk about some skill that you like or don't like or whatever, send an email to feedback at Unmute show and they'll get it to me. So, yeah, it's been really fun.

51:49.822 --> 51:51.286
Awesome, Lucy. Thanks. So much.

51:51.358 --> 51:57.710
And Lucy, we appreciated the shout out that you did on your games to play show on Tuesday, so thank you.

51:57.750 --> 51:58.470
Oh, yeah. That was awesome.

51:58.510 --> 51:59.330
Yeah, sure.

52:01.030 --> 52:06.334
All right, thanks, Lucy. All right, our iPhone is currently unmuted.

52:06.422 --> 52:06.742
Hello.

52:06.806 --> 52:11.334
All right, iPhone. Hi, everyone. My name is Juan. Sorry, I don't know why my name doesn't show.

52:11.422 --> 52:13.462
No worries, Juan. Thanks for joining us.

52:13.606 --> 52:13.910
Hi.

52:13.950 --> 52:21.398
Thank you. But I have a quick suggestion. I guess when I was a paid member, I sent an email asking some.

52:21.454 --> 53:03.752
Questions and I never heard back from nobody. So one, that's very good. And I'm not sure why you didn't hear back from anybody, but if you drop me an email to feedback at unmute show up right now, we, or in the very near future, we'll make sure that we can get back to you. As we all know, sometimes emails get misplaced. Either I overlook them or they go into spam. So if for some reason you don't hear from us, let us know. I'm not going to commit to another idea, but I have some thoughts running through my head as well. So just drop us another email, Juan, and we can help you out. Okay, I appreciate it. Thank you. No worries. Thanks for letting me. And I think. Is that it, Travis?

53:03.936 --> 53:06.896
That's it. Unless we have another iPhone that just.

53:06.928 --> 53:12.784
Raised their hand, I don't think so. I think that was one. But you think that's one again?

53:12.832 --> 53:15.464
Okay, now we got it. Now we got. Now we do. Chris.

53:15.592 --> 53:16.500
Hey, Chris.

53:16.840 --> 53:31.800
Oh, goodness. I raised my hand when I thought I was lowering it. But anyway, I will just say really quick that it actually our show that I'm very excited that we just launched is Mac chat. Oh, I said mactalk.

53:32.340 --> 53:35.252
Thank you, Chris. Mac chat. Gotcha.

53:35.316 --> 54:11.892
That's okay. I'm very excited about our Mac chat show. And just to echo what Lucy said too, is please, please, please email in if you have suggestions. You know, a feedback, just anything. That's why it's called feedback show, you know, because sometimes, like, I don't know what people are thinking about that at your fingertips, you know, but if anybody has anything they want me to, you know, like, like Lucy said to go over or, or do, I'm just happy to oblige. I just don't know what it is. If anyone has any ideas. So thank you. The feedback is, is really much appreciated.

54:12.036 --> 54:22.040
And you'll get the new Mac show plus the braille show and all the other things in that same feed. If you're subscribed to Unmute presents and any podcatcher or you can just go to the website, unmute.

54:22.470 --> 54:23.966
Let's Travis last hand.

54:24.038 --> 54:27.478
We do have one hand, and that is Scott. Scott Marshall.

54:27.614 --> 54:29.974
Yes. Now, that guy can show you good food.

54:30.022 --> 54:31.446
No. Should we let you talk, Scott?

54:31.558 --> 54:32.610
This is very.

54:36.470 --> 54:37.246
You muted.

54:37.318 --> 54:39.174
Okay, I'm unmuted. There you are.

54:39.342 --> 54:44.582
There I am. There you go. Scott, this will be real quick. I got a real kick out of.

54:44.606 --> 54:55.932
Your comparing yourself to Leo Laporte and Tim Commando, but please, and I think that's very justified. But please, please, please don't. Back in the day, she used to.

54:55.956 --> 54:57.764
Call herself the digital goddess.

54:57.812 --> 55:11.820
Oh, she still does. And I've heard her say now, digital pro, which still is, you know, but anyway. But I'm just glad that you are Michael and Marty. That's all it takes. There you go.

55:11.940 --> 55:15.694
Very exciting, though. Thank you. We appreciate it.

55:15.742 --> 55:27.382
Yep. And. And appreciate all of your support, Scott. It's been awesome working with you as well, so thanks a lot. And. And I will not become the digital goddess. Not gonna happen.

55:27.486 --> 55:28.718
But please don't do that.

55:28.814 --> 55:38.326
I think you get the concept of what we want to shoot for and be the resource for people to go to to get their tech updates. So thank you, Scott. Appreciate that. Well, when you get paid what?

55:38.358 --> 55:42.424
She gets paid, you know. Well, yeah, I get. I get it.

55:42.552 --> 55:43.576
All right, good.

55:43.688 --> 55:44.912
Take care. Thanks, Scott.

55:44.976 --> 55:49.672
All right, let's take this last hand, and then we'll wrap it up. Adrian, go ahead, Adrian.

55:49.736 --> 55:50.392
How you doing?

55:50.496 --> 55:52.176
Yeah. What up, peoples? Can ya hear me? Yes, sir.

55:52.208 --> 55:53.040
Yep, we can hear you.

55:53.120 --> 56:00.352
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Real quick. I missed the first 15 minutes of this. Are we gonna be able to play this back in the unmute podcast? Yes, sir. It'll be there tomorrow.

56:00.376 --> 56:08.128
It'll be dropping the feed, and you'll be able to hear it. As soon as it goes, we go off the air. It should get up probably sometime later tonight or to tomorrow, I would say.

56:08.224 --> 56:14.192
Yeah. Okay. That'll work. Yeah, definitely, definitely. Listen to this again. This will work. All right, Michael. All right, y'all take it easy. Perfect.

56:14.256 --> 56:15.020
Thank you.

56:15.440 --> 56:51.640
So I want to give a huge shout out to Chanel and to Travis. Really appreciate your guys support and assistance both on this call and the rest of the work that you do throughout community. Community would not be community without hosts. And trifectas is, how do you say, plural of trifecta. Anyways, hosts would not, or community would not be what it is without you guys support. And we. We as facilitators definitely appreciate what you're doing and how you can help make this work. Marty, wrap it up by letting people know how they can give us some feedback and when they can listen live if they haven't on Tuesdays.

56:52.220 --> 57:44.190
Yeah. So if you want to reach out to us by email, you can email us at feedback Unmute show, and we'd love to hear any ideas, suggestions, comments, whatever it is, that's where you do it. And then if you want to check out all the things we have going on, you can check out our website at Unmute show. And if you don't know, we're live in the community every Tuesday, 01:00 p.m. eastern, 10:00 a.m. west coast time. And that show gets dropped later in the afternoon that day, once we go off the air and you can find us there and in any podcatcher, unmute presents to hear all of the other shows that we do. And with that, that. Thank you, everybody, for being here. We so much appreciate all of your feedback and ideas, and we will see you guys next time. Thank you very much.

57:44.310 --> 57:50.990
Wow. We're professionals. Two minutes. Thanks, Travis. Thanks, Chanel. Appreciate it.
