Hey, it's Michael here and today I want to give you a replay of a couple of audio files that.

00:13.136 --> 00:16.980
I used in a recent live ACB community event.

App, even though I have a love.

00:33.280 --> 01:04.244
Hate relationship with it, called todoist. And in that demonstration I recorded a couple of pieces of audio for you. So today's digital bite is going to be a little bit longer than normal, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to start by playing in here a brief demo of setting todoist up on Windows and then I'm going to demonstrate for you todoist and the usage of todoist on iOS. We're going to take a brief exploration of the application application and hope you enjoy this.

01:04.332 --> 01:15.684
So we'll start out in Edge on the downloads page@todoist.com downloads with an S. I'll use H for heading navigation todoist.

03:07.078 --> 03:10.870
Up that says this site is trying to open todoist left paren Mac right paren.

03:10.950 --> 03:14.326
Fun fact, it says the Mac but.

03:14.478 --> 03:28.536
It actually opens a Windows version. If you're on Parallels now we need to allow it to open that, so we'll go ahead and do that so that way todoist knows we've successfully logged in. Once you're signed into todoist on Windows.

03:28.568 --> 03:31.288
You should be placed on your inbox and totalist.

03:31.384 --> 03:33.272

If you found any use in this content, please don't hesitate to share with someone and reach out with feedback okay.

05:53.026 --> 06:08.834
So in this quick clip we're going to open todoist. I'll give you a brief introduction to the layout of the application and we'll show you how you can complete do a couple of things.

06:09.002 --> 06:12.150
So first I'll go home dot safari.

06:12.720 --> 06:17.672
And I'm going to flick over to my page switcher because frankly I don't know where todoist is right now.

06:17.776 --> 06:20.504
Search page 1 of 6 Adjustable and.

06:20.512 --> 06:22.952
If I double tap on this spotlight.

06:23.016 --> 06:25.480
Text field is editing search insertion point.

06:25.520 --> 06:28.616
At start and I'll type in todt.

06:28.808 --> 06:35.384
Top Top Top Search FD Top Search Top Search Result Todoist 70 items found.

06:35.552 --> 06:39.182
We'Ll touch todoist todoist button and then.

06:39.206 --> 06:47.458
Double tap todoist Opportunity does not knock. It presents itself when you beat down the door. Kyle Chandler Every once in a while.

06:47.504 --> 06:58.014
You get those random quotes that kind of can be inspirational. But this is the main todoist screen at the bottom we have several tabs.

06:58.062 --> 07:00.494
Tab Bar Today tab 1 of 4.

07:00.662 --> 07:02.286
And we'll flick across these tabs.

07:02.318 --> 07:07.630
Upcoming tab 2 of 4 Search tab 3 of 4 Selected Browse tab 4.

07:07.670 --> 07:13.038
Of 4 and browse is really the main tab I work out of.

07:13.094 --> 07:16.222
Browse and Upcoming Tab two of four.

07:16.406 --> 07:20.078
Upcoming and on occasion well, sometimes I'm.

07:20.094 --> 07:22.526
In tab one of four today.

07:22.598 --> 08:10.802
But honestly Upcoming lets me see what's coming up next both today and moving forward. Now, when you're in the Browse tab, you have some icons across the top and most of the tabs on this app look the same at the top as well. So I'll show you that except for this button in the top left corner Record Back button. The back button is at the top left corner. When you find that if you flick to the right or slide your finger to the right, you'll hear more Actions button, More actions. That more actions button is typically in the top corner of the app. The back button is not always there. Think of the back button as a menu button because if we flick to the left and we double tap on.

08:10.826 --> 08:16.786
Back Upgrade to Pro, set up reminders, add extra projects and more button.

08:16.978 --> 08:22.946
It wants me to upgrade to Pro but we have some icons across the top. Now if I touch on the top left corner where the back button marks.

08:22.978 --> 08:27.910
Upgrade to Pro productivity daily goal00tasks button.

08:28.410 --> 08:33.138
And it tells me 00tasks will get into productivity in a minute. But if you flick to the right.

08:33.194 --> 08:36.000
Notifications button Settings button.

08:36.420 --> 08:53.292
So that's how you get to the main settings of the application is you touch the browse button in the bottom right hand corner, touch back and then touch settings which is in the top right hand corner. Now that we've hit back, we have some other elements on the screen.

08:53.356 --> 08:58.080
Upgrade to Pro Inbox button, Favorites heading B button.

08:58.740 --> 09:04.332
So there's favorites and then that's a heading. So I can switch to heading navigation.

09:04.396 --> 09:07.576
Headings and flick down my projects heading.

09:07.688 --> 09:11.800
Heading not found and there's my projects and if I flick to the right.

09:11.920 --> 09:17.288
Guys todoist webinar with dhash and Michael Unmute but manage projects button.

09:17.464 --> 09:19.512
And there's the Manage projects button.

09:19.576 --> 09:22.696
Browse Templates 0 Tasks button Quick Add.

09:22.768 --> 09:31.624
Button Browse template quick add and that gives you those abilities. So on this screen I'm going to.

09:31.632 --> 09:34.262
Choose inbox inbox button.

09:34.406 --> 09:59.062
If I double tap on that select it back button. This brings me to a task list and most projects in todoist will look similar to what you're going to see in this instance. You're going to have your back button in the top left corner. If you flick to the right actions button, you'll have more action, you'll have more actions, which is a contextual based menu.

09:59.126 --> 10:03.048
Let's double tap on more actions more actions Comments button.

10:03.224 --> 10:08.856
If you have comments on a project, you can find those comments here. But we can flick to the right comment section button.

10:08.968 --> 10:17.048
Copy link to inbox button Select Tasks button View button Activity Log button Dismiss context menu button.

10:17.224 --> 11:05.850
So as you can see, there's a lot you can do within a project itself. I'm going to dismiss this back button. And now I am in the project again. And the way the project is laid out is you have the back button in the top left corner, the more options button in the top right corner. Your tasks are down the middle of the screen and if you have sections you can navigate those sections by switching to heading navigation and flicking down to those specific sections. You can double tap on a heading to expand or collapse that section. So if you have tasks in a specific section, you can hide those quickly by double tapping on the section itself and that'll hide those particular tasks to clean up your inbox but I have a task here that I want to complete. Let me find it.

11:05.890 --> 11:13.870
Send a weekly reminder Record a demo showing how to set quickaddup september 162024 button.

11:14.610 --> 11:26.682
That task is a little bit out of date but on this task now that it's selected with my voiceover cursor I can flick down and I have several actions complete.

11:26.826 --> 11:31.946
Reschedule drag item activate default by default.

11:31.978 --> 11:56.122
It'S going to activate if you double tap. However I'm going to flick down complete and I'm going to double tap on complete. You get that satisfying click sound to let you know that it has completed. And now that task is complete. Now I want to show you two other things. Number one, I'm going to touch the menu button in the top left corner.

11:56.186 --> 12:05.948
Activate to dismiss pop 7:30 activate to dismiss pop navbar 7:30 navbar back button and we'll split tap there inbox button.

12:06.124 --> 12:14.236
Now todoist does a great job at implementing drag and drop with voiceover so I'm going to touch towards the middle.

12:14.268 --> 12:18.012
Of my screen todoist webinar with damash and michael button and I'm going to.

12:18.036 --> 12:19.996
Double tap on this to open this project.

12:20.148 --> 12:21.660
Select it back button.

12:21.820 --> 12:23.980
Now I have some tasks in here and let's find one.

12:24.020 --> 12:27.920
Create sequence of emails for webinar assigned to Michael Babcock button.

12:28.080 --> 12:35.152
Okay, that sounds good. Let's move that to my inbox so if I flick down I'll have the same options you already heard.

12:35.216 --> 12:39.872
Complete reschedule drag item activate default and.

12:39.896 --> 12:43.632
By default to get here faster I'm going to flick up to drag item.

12:43.696 --> 12:45.424
Drag item and then I'm going to.

12:45.432 --> 12:48.256
Double tap on drag item create outline.

12:48.288 --> 12:49.968
For webinar and doc button.

12:50.144 --> 12:52.552
I'm going to now tap in the.

12:52.576 --> 12:58.792
Top left corner 7:31 a todoist webinar back button todoist webinar with dam and.

12:58.816 --> 13:00.200
Now I'm going to find my inbox.

13:00.280 --> 13:02.520
Upgrade to pro inbox button.

13:02.680 --> 13:04.584
I'm going to double tap on inbox.

13:04.712 --> 13:07.720
Selected inbox and then let's say I.

13:07.760 --> 13:09.688
Want to drop this right after check.

13:09.704 --> 13:14.952
Out vision tech academy button so I'll flick up cancel drag drop after item.

13:15.016 --> 13:17.512
Drop ready and I can double tap Here.

13:17.536 --> 13:22.360
But I also can drop onto items Drop ready. Drop before item drop ready.

13:22.520 --> 13:27.112
So I'm going to actually drop before this item here. If I flick to the left right.

13:27.136 --> 13:30.136
Now you'll hear sent Donna information about Herbie's cooking.

13:30.328 --> 13:31.432
And then if I flick to the.

13:31.456 --> 13:33.880
Right, check out Vision Tech Academy button.

13:34.040 --> 13:37.384
So I'm going to flick up on check out Vision Tech Academy Cancel draft.

13:37.432 --> 13:40.584
Drop after drop onto it. Drop before item drop ready.

13:40.712 --> 13:46.994
We'll double tap on drop before item drop complete. You hear drop is complete. Now if I flick to the left.

13:47.112 --> 13:49.630
Create sequence of emails for webinar button.

13:49.790 --> 13:51.166
And then flick to the left again.

13:51.238 --> 13:57.010
Send Donna information about Hervey's cooking corner, ACB Community bits and ACB media button.

13:57.350 --> 14:00.878
So as you can see now I have another task here.

14:00.934 --> 14:03.006
Create sequence of emails for webinar check.

14:03.038 --> 14:22.050
Out Vision Tech Academy button that I can easily navigate. That is how you drag and drop tasks. You can drag tasks from any project or section within todoist and drop it in any project or section within todoist. Now we're going to tap the back button in the top left corner.

14:22.870 --> 14:23.966
Back button.

14:24.158 --> 14:35.934
And if I double tap that inbox button I hear inbox. I'm going to flick to the left now and we'll flick past settings and notifications and the favorite projects that I.

14:35.942 --> 14:39.886
Have upgrade to pro settings button. Notifications button.

14:40.078 --> 14:41.582
Now when I flick one more time.

14:41.606 --> 14:45.056
You'Ll hear productivity daily goal 00 tasks.

14:45.158 --> 14:56.268
Button that for some reason does not dynamically update. But if I double tap on that because you may remember we completed a task settings button. And then I flick to the right.

14:56.324 --> 15:04.220
Productivity heading Done button. Done button. Michael Badcock 6738 completed tasks button.

15:04.380 --> 15:07.804
You've heard that I've completed 6738 tasks.

15:07.852 --> 15:12.604
Then I flick to the right daily goal one. One tasks well done.

15:12.772 --> 15:16.140
And my daily goal one one task is well done.

15:16.180 --> 15:17.500
Edit goals button.

15:17.660 --> 15:23.724
You can edit your goals here. And if I you will hear something different. So let me show you what you will hear.

15:23.812 --> 15:28.348
Michael Babcock 6738 completed tasks button.

15:28.524 --> 15:34.332
So there's your tasks, your name and then the amount of tasks you've completed. I'm going to flick to the right.

15:34.516 --> 15:42.742
Selected Daily button one of three. You'll hear daily weekly button two of three, Karma button three of three and karma.

15:42.806 --> 15:43.862
And I'm going to double tap on.

15:43.886 --> 15:46.854
Karma selected Karma 3 of 3.

15:47.022 --> 16:00.822
The reason you did not hear those three tabs is because I have my voiceover set to group. So if I stop Interacting with this with two finger swipe to the left and then I flick to the left you'll hear my name followed by the.

16:00.846 --> 16:05.664
Completed task Michael Babcock 6738 completed tasks button.

16:05.712 --> 16:13.820
And then if I flick to the right you're not going to hear anything because Todoist hasn't labeled this group. But if I flick to the right again.

16:14.120 --> 16:19.780
Grandmaster3222017780 left to get to Enlightened.

16:20.680 --> 16:30.860
So putting your voiceover in group mode allows you to quickly skip past those tabs. And that's the brief demo of todoist on iOS that I wanted to share with you.

16:31.260 --> 17:56.820
Hey everyone, it's Kris, back with some digital bites for you today. I'd like to go back to basics. You know, sometimes we get sort of enthralled with the latest and greatest thing and maybe it's advanced and oh my goodness, this new cool feature. But I think it is also great to review and go back to basics. I was sitting with a staff member of ours just showing her some tips and things that she could use with our older blind clients. And she just wanted to pick my brain about some of the settings and things that I do that make the phone easier for people to use. So what I thought I would do is take us to the phone app in the settings and just show you some things that I was thinking about as I was working with this staff member. So it seems strange to me that Apple does not put the phone app in the main settings screen of your phone. You have to go all the way to the bottom of the list of things in settings and you'll find the apps button and then you'll scroll down to alphabetical listing to phone. And in my case it took a while. I had to go through the alphabetical index because I probably have 170 apps on my phone. Kind of ridiculous. Anyway, so I'm here in the Phone apps back button and so yeah, here's my apps back button, phone heading and here we go. So we're going to explore some of the settings in phone and things that make people's lives a little easier.

17:57.000 --> 17:59.452
Allow phone to access heading the things.

17:59.476 --> 18:00.668
That the phone can access.

18:00.804 --> 18:02.700
Apple Intelligence and Siri.

18:02.860 --> 18:22.268
So we're going to take a short break and move to the Siri settings. It may be called Apple Intelligence and Siri for you or Siri and Search, depending on which phone you have. And so I have scrolled down to the particular setting that we want to hang up the phone call.

18:22.324 --> 18:23.884
Hang up on button.

18:24.012 --> 20:17.940
Okay, so this is important. There is a call hang up which I have turned on. And this was not available to me until of course, I activated Hey S Lady. And of course I had to speak to her and let her know my voice and that sort of thing. And so when you have the setting on that she can tell you about who's calling. And you know, you, you can always access that. This hang up phone calls is available to you as well. So beyond that announce calls button that is turned on always announce notifications button and so forth. And so as long as the announce calls is on and it's set to always, you can ask her to answer the phone or answer the phone on speaker, which is great. And that works. I tried that out calling myself from a different phone. And then while the phone call is in progress, you can ask her to hang up the phone. Now that is turned off by default. And so when you go in here to the settings with Siri and search, you'll find if you have the Hey S Lady turned on, you'll be able to turn on the switch for her to be able to hang up a call as well, which is really great if your hands are in the middle of cooking dinner or washing dishes, or maybe you have some dexterity issues where the two finger double tap is difficult for you to do. That is certainly a handy dandy way to answer and hang up the phone. And now we're going to go back to the phone app settings. So I'm going to work my way through the rest of the settings here.

20:18.110 --> 20:23.112
Search button, notifications, banners, sounds, badges button.

20:23.256 --> 20:28.248
Okay, so the notifications, you've got them all. Badges, sounds badges, etc.

20:28.424 --> 20:30.760
Cellular data switch button on.

20:30.880 --> 20:33.608
I've got the cellular data, of course, turned on.

20:33.744 --> 20:36.008
Default calling app phone button.

20:36.104 --> 20:42.552
Okay, I'm not sure what other app I would use. I mean, I'm wondering if it kind of means like WhatsApp or whatnot.

20:42.616 --> 20:45.678
So incoming calls, full screen button.

20:45.774 --> 21:16.574
Now this is a good one. Incoming calls is set to full screen. Now usually the phone's default setting is like a banner. So there's just a little banner that I believe appears at the top of the screen. But when you have it in full screen, it makes it easier for someone who has low vision. Maybe someone's losing their vision, maybe they're older. They need to really be able to see that full screen of when the phone rings. They need to be able to see what's happening. So it makes the green answer button and the red hang up button a.

21:16.582 --> 21:20.078
Lot More visible Announce calls always button.

21:20.174 --> 21:29.422
Okay, so here's the announce calls always. And so I believe that's going to happen whether voiceover is turned on or not. Especially if you have Siri be able.

21:29.446 --> 21:34.638
To access the phone my number plus share name and photo contacts only button.

21:34.734 --> 21:57.658
Okay, so I swipe past my phone number so I don't publicize it to the whole world. But then we have share my name and photo with contacts only. Now I'd prefer to leave it that way. Otherwise apparently I have to sort of ask each time, you know, if I want to share my, my photo and name. So that seems kind of unwieldy.

21:57.834 --> 22:01.482
Updated name and photo will be automatically shared with people in your contacts.

22:01.546 --> 22:05.978
Okay, so that's just an explanation there. Calls heading here is about the calls.

22:06.074 --> 22:07.962
WI fi calling on button.

22:08.026 --> 22:47.692
Okay, I have that turned on and that's kind of nice because then you don't have to use any data and you can maybe get better reception. Say that you're in a poor cell signal area and if you have access to wifi, that would make your call a bit clearer. Now when I did that, I seem to remember that I also had to tell it my, you know, home based sort of emergency address in case emergency services needed to get in touch with me. For some reason it was kind of wound up with that setting calls on other devices. Okay, so I guess I wanted to answer a call on another device like my Mac or my iPad. I could do that.

22:47.846 --> 22:49.824
Respond with text button.

22:49.952 --> 23:05.056
Okay, now the respond with text button. You can choose what you want to say as the phone is ringing. You can choose a default answer like hey, I can't talk right now or call you back soon. And that is definitely an editable field.

23:05.208 --> 23:06.800
Call forwarding button.

23:06.880 --> 23:20.918
Okay, now, not sure about the call forwarding. I, I haven't really experienced that because I, I don't need to do that. But if you had a second line perhaps or another number that you wanted your calls forwarded to, you could do that.

23:21.054 --> 23:22.566
Call waiting button.

23:22.678 --> 23:27.206
Okay, Call waiting, that's another option.

23:27.398 --> 23:29.382
Call recording on button.

23:29.446 --> 24:17.386
Okay, this is cool. Call recording is turned on and of course I think we've had a digital bite or two about that in the past. So when you want to record a call, you're going to hide the keypad and then you're going to go up to the top left corner and there is the call recording button. It announces the fact that you're recording to the person you're talking to. And then you can chat away and then you can Stop it at any time. And then a recording of that is placed in the Call Recordings folder in your Notes app. And then you can also ask for a transcript or show a transcript of the call. And as I demonstrated recently, I believe on another digital Bite, you can also send that transcript to ChatGPT and it can summarize it for you, which is really kind of cool.

24:17.578 --> 24:19.418
Show my caller ID button.

24:19.514 --> 24:21.482
Okay, there's show my caller ID and.

24:21.506 --> 24:25.258
I do have that turned on live voicemail on button.

24:25.354 --> 24:48.598
So live voicemail is one of those things where you can get a transcript and be notified when someone is leaving a voicemail in case you see oh my word, it's the doctor calling. I better answer. You know, I don't want them to hang up before I get a chance to answer. And so you can then figure out who's calling. There'll be a little transcript of what they're saying and you can answer the call before they hang up the voicemail.

24:48.774 --> 24:51.318
Silence unknown callers off button.

24:51.414 --> 25:00.370
So for whatever reason I have turned that off. Silence unknown callers. I'm not really quite sure why I turned that off, but I could then double tap it here.

25:00.670 --> 25:13.220
Settings Silent calls from unknown numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail and displayed on the reasons list. Incoming calls will continue to ring from people in your contacts, recent outgoing calls, and Siri suggestions.

25:13.640 --> 25:27.504
Okay, so that's good news. At least I'll know the person called, but I won't be annoyed by them. And so that'd be really good because sometimes you do get these calls from foreign countries just trying to contact me for some reason.

25:27.592 --> 25:30.944
So silence unknown callers. Switch button off.

25:31.032 --> 25:48.514
Okay, so it's still off. I just went in there to read about it and now if I double tap on now it's on. Okay, so I will definitely silence those unknown callers. I'm not sure why that decided to tell you the time, but anyway, at least I'll not worry about the unknown callers.

25:48.642 --> 25:59.058
Calls from unknown Silence unknown callers. Switch button Silence unknown phone back button here. Silence unknown callers. Call blocking and identification button.

25:59.154 --> 26:11.436
Okay, there's this call blocking and identification and there's a way to see who your blocked contacts are and you can also that's another place in the phone. Let's see what's in here.

26:11.508 --> 26:14.076
Business call identification on button.

26:14.188 --> 26:15.532
Okay, that's good news.

26:15.716 --> 26:21.004
Display verified caller information and logo identified by Apple Business Connect or T Mobile.

26:21.132 --> 26:24.204
Okay, so T Mobile is my phone carrier.

26:24.332 --> 26:26.940
Silence junk callers. Switch button on.

26:27.060 --> 26:30.232
Okay, that's good news. I've got silence. Junk callers.

26:30.396 --> 26:38.016
Calls identified by T Mobile as potential spam or fraud will be silenced automatically, sent to voicemail and displayed on the recent list.

26:38.168 --> 26:42.384
Okay, so I'm glad that they're still displayed on the recents list.

26:42.552 --> 26:44.608
Calls identified by T Mobile and that's.

26:44.624 --> 26:48.528
The end of that. Okay, so calls display various business, business.

26:48.584 --> 26:54.688
Call item, phone back button here and we'll see what's called item, blocked contacts, SMS call.

26:54.824 --> 26:57.536
Okay, so I have blocked contacts and I can see those.

26:57.608 --> 27:00.512
And then we have SMS call reporting button.

27:00.656 --> 27:17.916
There's the call and so you can report calls. I haven't really dived into that because I feel like I have enough parameters put in place that I'm not going to worry about, you know, reporting anybody or anything. So let's see if this is the last thing here.

27:18.068 --> 27:20.252
Dial assist. Switch button off.

27:20.356 --> 27:21.740
Okay, there's Dial Assist.

27:21.860 --> 27:26.220
Dial assist automatically determines the correct international or local prefix when dialing.

27:26.380 --> 27:31.398
Okay. So I don't really make any out of country calls, but if I did, that could be handy.

27:31.494 --> 27:32.790
Dial assist automatically.

27:32.870 --> 27:50.550
And that is the last thing in the settings app for the phone. So I hope you found this helpful. Cruising through the settings on phone and maybe there are a couple of options that will make you or a friend or loved one's life a little easier when using the phone. And so happy calling.

27:50.630 --> 29:33.150
Hey, Marty here. And today I want to talk to you about voiceover practice. This is geared towards those new to voiceover people who are just getting going with voiceover. They're just learning. So this is called voiceover practice. And what you do to access it is you go to Settings, then you go to Accessibility, and then you go to Voiceover, Then you go to voiceover practice. Once that's open, then you'll be presented with a blank screen. On that screen you can double tap, single tap, swipe to the right, swipe to the left and practice all of your gestures. Each time you do a gesture, it's going to tell you out loud verbally what each gesture is. So for example, if you do a single finger swipe to the right, it will say swipe to next item out loud. If you do a single finger swipe to the left, it will say previous item out loud. So this is voiceover practice. For those of you who are new to voiceover. This is a great way to hop in there and practice all of your gestures and flicks and swipes without worrying about messing anything up on your device. So it's really great. I definitely would recommend anyone who's new to Voiceover checking this out. It's very helpful. Also, if you have more questions about Voiceover for your iPhone or your iPad or any of that, then you can always email us at feedbackmute show and we will try to assist if we can, or maybe provide you with some resources sources. In any case, once again, Voiceover practice. Good luck and enjoy.
