03:16.160 --> 03:17.700
Can you play the scale?

03:18.490 --> 04:52.030
All musical scales contain eight notes and are represented by the letters a through g. The first scale you will learn is called c major. It is the first one to learn as it only uses the white keys. First, let's check hand position. Your thumb should be on the middle c key. To check. Let's go ahead and play that key now. Next, let's check that the pinky finger of your right hand should be on the g key. Go ahead and play that now. Now if you want to play just one more key up the scale, you can stretch your pinky finger and play it. It's the a key and let's try it now. To move further up the scale, we will want to reposition your entire hand rather than continuing to stretch that pinky finger. So we will need to work on hand position. To be specific, after you play the e key with your middle finger, move your thumb to play the f key. This is called a crossover and is a common hand movement when playing the piano. Now let's go ahead and give it a try. Just playing the first four keys starting with your thumb on middle c. Then play the d key using your index finger followed by the e key with your middle finger. Finally, move your thumb under the middle finger and play the f key. Let's try it now. Now this time use this same move starting with your thumb on middle c and play the entire scale, crossing your thumb over for the f key.

Amazon exit piano teacher okay, so I'm not sure if she actually exited that skill or not, but that's, like I said, very, very basic and elementary. And you can learn other scales by, you know, asking in different keys. And obviously this one, you just use the white keys on the piano. So like, if you were to ask for a D scale, you would use one, one of the black keys, the f sharp and the c sharp too. Sorry. Yeah, I only had eleven years of piano lessons. Hey, what can I say? Okay, so yeah, that's kind of fun. If you have a keyboard or a piano, you can play around with that. So just so you know, you have to disable one instrument skill before you can open another one. 12:36.448 --> 13:50.880
Can help you learn individual notes on the guitar. What you just heard was the note e. It's the native note on the first string of the guitar. If we start by focusing on the notes for the first string. It's the best place to start learning how the scale works. The fretboard is the part of the guitar that the strings run along and allow for placement of your fingers to press down on the strings. The top of the fretboard is called the nut. Using your index finger, press on the first string between the nut and the first fret. Then play the string. It should sound like this. That sound is one note higher than the e and is called FDE. Now let's move your index finger up one more fret and play the string again. That is the next key on the scale and is called f hash. We can think of sharp as a half key, meaning that the sounds is halfway between f and g. Now, you're probably noticing the pattern, but let's keep going. Go up one more fret and play the string again. This note is g and is one step above f hash. So the first lesson is that for each fret we move our finger on, it plays a higher note. If you're ready for the next step in learning notes, say next.

Little bit easier to use and maybe you could learn more, I think. But I'll just say this. When I tune my guitar, I start at the other end. Now, it didn't allow us to tune all six strings of the guitar. And I don't know why that was, but I tried twice to get it to do it and it would not. So just saying that I start at the other end of my guitar, I think that's easier. But I'm sure there are varying opinions on that, right? So that's the only two instruments that I could find that you can learn on your lady a device. I tried a couple of other ones. I tried violin and flute, things like that. And she didn't know what I was talking about. So that may be the only two instruments that you can learn how to play using your lady a device. Alright, so that is it for today. And I hope you got something out of those fun skills and you can figure out how to use them. I don't know yet what I'll be doing for next time, but I'm sure I will think of something. In the meantime, if you have any feedback for me and have any suggestions of what you might want to know or what you might want to do or learn about using your lady a device, send an email to feedback unmute show, and Michael or Marty will be sure that I receive it. All right? So until next time, everybody have fun with your lady a devices. Bye for now.
